PROXIM AND PI SYSTEMS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO BRING WIRELESS MOBILE
COMPUTING TO THE HEALTH CARE MARKET

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif, July 12, 1993 -- Proxim, Inc., the leading supplier
of spread spectrum-based wireless networking products, today announced a
business partnership agreement with PI Systems that will result in a
family of new mobile information products that will incorporate Proxim
wireless communications technology.

Under the terms of the agreement, PI will immediately begin building
Proxim's ProxLink Radio Modules into its Infolio electronic clipboards to
allow the clipboards to wirelessly communicate to a host database running
MobileWare Server, PI Systems' server software. Ensuing products will
incorporate Proxim's RangeLAN family of wireless LAN adapters into other
PI Systems' mobile information hardware platforms. Proxim and PI Systems
expect the new wireless systems to be available by October 1993.

"Proxim's alliance with PI Systems represents our continuing efforts to
develop partnerships that will catapult Proxim into a market leading
position with health care providers," said Rick Heller, Proxim's president
and CEO. "Because PI Systems has made inroads in several health care
industry segments, this partnership fits perfectly into our health care
strategy."

"Establishing networking capabilities and real-time links to the mobile
worker and mobile health care clinician is a critical way to increase
productivity without hindering work flow," said Shyam Jha, director of
strategic marketing for PI Systems Corporation. "By incorporating Proxim's
wireless networking products, PI will continue to lead the health care,
and specifically home health care, industry by offering unique mobile
information solutions."

Benefits to an organization using this mobile information solution with
wireless capabilities include the ability to transmit bi-directional data
real time, reduce or eliminate paperwork, automate the patient record, and
decrease the reimbursement cycle.

PI Systems Corporation, headquartered in Portland, Ore., provides
information solutions that integrate mobile workers into existing
enterprise information systems. PI Systems mobile client/server
architecture includes MobileWare Client software, MobileWare Server
software and Infolio 160 and 100 electronic clipboards. PI Systems began
