Pencom Software to Provide Device Driver Development For Windows NT

AUSTIN, Texas, July 20, 1993 Pencom Software announced today the expansion
of its successful Device Driver Development Program to include NT device
driver development services. The company will provide rapid prototyping
and object-oriented development assistance to allow a wide variety of
products such as SCSI adapters, video adaptors, network cards, multi-media
controllers and others to interface with the soon-to-be-released Windows
NT environment.

The program highlights Pencom's object-oriented expertise in developing
device drivers and allows vendors to have device driver prototypes quickly
developed for a small, fixed-price fee. The program has proven to be very
successful because it allows vendors to meet tight tradeshow demonstration
schedules. Additionally, the prototypes are inexpensive enough to be used
for evaluation and market testing purposes.

The prototypes are delivered in a binary-only distribution and are covered
by no warranty or maintenance agreement. With the prototype completed, the
driver can then be fully developed at a later date for an additional
charge.

"Pencom's expertise in object-oriented development gives us a distinct
advantage in rapid device driver development," said Dr. W. Frank King,
president, Pencom Software. "The excitement surrounding the release of NT
creates an atmosphere filled with expectations of how NT will enhance the
marketplace. Our program allows vendors to get a first-hand look at how
their products will run on NT."

Development of NT drivers requires a combination of experience in
object-based kernel development and device driver development in client
server environments to ensure that the driver meets today's high
performance requirements. Pencom's position as a long-time supplier of
device drivers for numerous multi-threaded environments, like NT, has
allowed the company to build a strong foundation for object-based NT
development efforts. Leveraging this expertise allows Pencom's software
engineers to build fast, high quality and efficient device drivers.

development and recruiting firm with five offices nationwide.

specialized services necessary for companies involved in leading-edge
technologies.
