BIT JUGGLERS ANNOUNCES UNDERWARE
Software that brings the fun of a screen saver to your desktop

Mountain View, California, July 23, 1993-Bit Jugglers Inc. today announced
UnderWare, a new Macintosh software product that combines traditional
screen saving capabilities with desktop animation and customization.

"And I thought I'd seen everything that could be done to make a Macintosh
more fun. You can't be cool if you don't have it," said Guy Kawasaki,
Macintosh pundit and Bit Juggler board member.

UnderWare provides three modes:

1) Dynamic Desktop. This mode runs UnderWare modules and After Dark
modules on the Macintosh desktop. The difference between UnderWare's
Dynamic Desktop and After Dark is that UnderWare runs while the computer
is being used-under your windows and icons-while After Dark runs only
when a computer is asleep. Thus, with UnderWare it is possible for users
to see Flying Toasters running on their desktop.

2) Screen saver. This mode runs UnderWare and After Dark modules as
conventional screen savers. Screen saver modules run on top of the
screen, blanking out layers underneath and preventing screen burn in.

3) Desktop pattern. Granite, oak paneling, green olives and barn siding
are just a few of the custom desktop patterns users can choose from with
UnderWare.

UnderWare includes over thirty professionally designed animation modules
including:

- Dinosaurs walking through a prehistoric landscape
- Files, folders, and icons sprouting legs and running off the screen
- A robber burrowing into your Macintosh and stealing microchips
- Butterflies flying across your desktop and landing on your icons
- A congenial fire breathing dragon melting your trash can
- A San Francisco cityscape with moving cars and people
- A Yosemite Valley scene with flowing waterfalls and floating clouds
- Tennis balls bouncing in three dimensional graphics
- Icons rocketing into orbit
- Rubber chickens flying in formation

UnderWare provides a user-configurable system activity monitor that checks
for CPU usage such as network access or file downloads. This prevents
module animation from taking processing cycles away from important
background activities. UnderWare is a control panel device and needs less
than 100 Kbytes of system heap memory. It requires at least a 68020
Macintosh with Color QuickDraw, 4 MB of RAM and System 7.

The suggested retail price of UnderWare is $59.95 and will ship in
September. Bit Jugglers Inc. is headquartered at 785 Castro Street, Suite
C, Mountain View, CA 94041. The phone number is 415-968-3908 and the fax
number is 415-968-5358. .
