Excellink Introduces Printer Sharing Upgrades for HP LaserJet 4Si, 4Si MX,
and Others

Latest Version of JetCard Series Includes New Software and $150 Worth of
Free Cabling

San Jose, California, July 26, 1993 -- Excellink, Inc., a Hewlett-Packard
Independent Hardware Vendor, is now shipping its upgraded JetCard series
of printer sharing solutions. Designed to maximize the cost-effectiveness
of expensive printers and plotters, the JetCard printer sharing upgrades
allow up to ten users to share any of the following H-P printers: the
LaserJet 4Si, 4Si MX and 4; the LaserJet IIISi, III, IIID, II and IID; the
DesignJet plotter; the DeskJet 1200C; or the HP PaintJet XL300 color
printer. The upgraded JetCard connects up to 10 PCs, Macs or other
computers to the printer via thin, easy-to-install RJ-11 telephone cables
and now comes bundled with up to $150 worth of cables and adapters free of
charge.

Plug-and-Play Solution

"Market demand was the driving force behind the creation of the JetCard
series," said Joe Hartzell, director of sales and marketing for Excellink,
Inc. "Our customers demand plug-and-play products that are easy to install
and ready to use right out of the box. This upgrade was designed with
those users in mind. That's why we have included all of the cabling,
adapters and software required for an entire office to be printing in
minutes. "

Faster Performance Enhanced with Bundled Software

JetCard, which plugs into the Optional I/O slot of most LaserJet printers,
features RJ-11 serial ports that support speeds up to 115,200 baud, twelve
times faster than standard PC serial ports. Users connect their PCs to the
JetCard using the included adapters and RJ-11 cables. Each JetCard comes
bundled with JetSetup, a new DOS/Windows-compatible software utility that
automatically upgrades each PC and JetCard serial port to the higher baud
rates. JetSetup also allows users easy access to other JetCard features
such as remote language switching, number of copies settings, and
end-of-job time-outs. JetSetup makes installation easier for everyone by
eliminating the need for confusing text-string codes and mode commands.
Users simply tell the program the desired settings, and JetSetup takes
care of the rest.

"The JetCard series provides today's most cost-effective solution for
sharing an HP peripheral. No other product provides such a complete a
solution; no one offers this many features at a better price," continued
Hartzell.

The JetCard cards are available with three to ten input ports and come
standard with 256K or 1M of buffer which is user-upgradeable to 4MB. All
