Supra Slates Superior Voice Processing Technology for August Release

ALBANY, OR, JULY, 1993--Combining their expertise in high-end faxmodem
hardware and software, Supra Corporation and Cypress Research Corporation
have designed an integrated communications solution that allows users to
experience full-featured voice, fax, and data communications in the
Macintosh environment. The product is scheduled to ship in late August,
and will be exhibited August 3-6 at MacWorld Expo booth 130 Bayside Expo
Center.

The voice option will be available to owners of Supra's V.32bis and V.32
faxmodem products as a $99 firmware and software upgrade. The firmware
will add Supra Voice Processing (SVP) capability to existing
SupraFAXmodems. The software, Supra Answering Machine, is developed with
Cypress Phone Pro technology and provides sophisticated digital answering
machine capabilities.

An integrated voice, fax, and data product will be available in September.
Named the Desktop Communicator, it will include SVP, the Supra Answering
Machine software, and an audio jack for easy recording and playback of
voice messages. Pricing has not been established for this product.

"The combined power of Supra's hardware and Cypress' software will let
users add the equivalent of a sophisticated digital answering machine to
most Mac systems," said John Wiley, President of Supra Corporation. "This
gives business and home users unprecedented communications power."

Paul Hurley, President and CIO at Cypress added, "This joint venture brings
together a unique set of features that will help define the market for
integrated communication toolkit also showcases several new technologies
developed to allow advanced Mac-based communications."

Benefits of Voice Integration

Supra's unique firmware design offers robust support for recognition of
touch-tone signals. "This provides a convenient way to record, play, and
remotely access messages. Because the firmware is specifically designed
for voice messaging, the quality of voice recordings will be better than
what can be expected on faxmodem systems that have added voice messaging
as an "afterthought.

The Supra Answering Machine software is both easy to use and powerfill. It
includes a telephone tool for Apple Telephone Manager which enables
addition of future voice applications. Supra and Cypress are also
collaborating on additional voice products such as a sophisticated voice
messaging system which will be named Supra Voice Mail. Users may develop
their own fully-compatible customized voice applications (such as fax on
demand) using the Cypress Phone Pro programming language.
