CoSA Releases Another Round of Plug-in Special Effects Enhanced Features
and Functionality, $99 For CoSA After Effects Users

(July 19, 1993, Providence, RI)--CoSA (The Company of Science and Art) will
release CoSA EFFECTS PACK, vol. 1, a plug-in special effects package for
CoSA After Effects, August 3, 1993 at the MacWorld Exposition/Boston and
SIGGRAPH 93 in Anaheim, California. CoSA EFFECTS PACK, vol.1, holds a
$199.00 value, but will be offered to registered CoSA After Effects users
at a special introductory price of $99.00.

This plug-in pack for CoSA After Effects, the professional quality motion
graphics and special effects application, is the second of a series of
plug-in packages that CoSA will release. Users receive the first of this
series, Additional Effects, free of charge when they register CoSA After
Effects.

CoSA EFFECTS PACK, vol. 1, offers new effects for stylizing and distorting
video images, a set of antialiased transitions, and image filters for such
essential tasks as color correction. For example, "Wave Warp" produces
high quality undulating and zig-zagging image distortions. "Texturize,"
which creates an illusion of depth by making one layer appear to be draped
over any other layer, can be applied to still images or moving video. As
with all of CoSA After Effects' controls, each parameter of these effects
can be manipulated over time through the use of keyframes.

Other effects include:

* Block Dissolve
* Displacement Map
* Equalize
* Gamma/Pedestal/Gain
* Leave Color
* Linear Wipe
* Minimax
* Motion Blur
* Offset
* Radial Wipe (aka Clock Wipe)
* Set Channels
* Scatter
* Strobe
* Venetian Blinds

CoSA plans to release more effects packs in the future, including modules
which will enhance the program's rendering speeds by taking advantage of
digital signal processors and other acceleration technologies. CoSA After
Effects also drives filters written for the Adobe Photoshop specification,
such as Kai's Power Tools, Aldus Gallery Effects, and XAOS Tools' Paint
Alchemy.

CoSA President Bill O'Farrell says, "The release of CoSA's new effects is
another example of our commitment to keeping video producers at the height
of their profession. Each effect opens up a new creative avenue for our
customers. We continue to ensure that productions created with CoSA After
Effects are the most exciting possible."

CoSA After Effects is a digital compositing, 2D animation, and special
effects program for the Macintosh. It allows video professionals to
combine, layer, and composite an unlimited number of QuickTime movies and
PICT files. Within the keyframe paradigm, CoSA After Effects users can
interactively or numerically apply special effects and motion over time.
CoSA After Effects provides users with the control, functionality, and
output quality that they expect to find in expensive post-production
facilities.

CoSA will be demonstrating CoSA EFFECTS PACK, vol. 1, as well as CoSA After
Effects, at MacWorld Exposition/Boston from August 3-6 in booth #5645, and
at SIGGRAPH '93, held at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 3-5 in
booth #2245.
