At Home or at School, Treasure Hunt Math Targets the Nintendo Generation

San Jose, CA--24 June, 1993--Adventure LearningWare has released Treasure
Hunt Math for the IBM PC. The software presents over 1000 math facts that
cover grades 1 through 6 in an arcade-style game format. With record
keeping, printed tat generation, problem file customization, and
certificate printing capabilities, the program is well suited for home and
school use.

Fun Action: The objective of the game is to find a treasure that was long
sunk with a pirates' ship. You progress through four different phases that
take you in and around the treasure island and under the ocean. As you
progress at your own pace through each phase of the game, you are given
math problems to solve. The math facts covered include addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percents.
Depending on the option you selected, the challenge may be solving the
equation or finding a missing factor. A study mode is available where you
can preview the equation before attempting to solve it. When you solve all
the problems in the game, the treasure is yours in a delightful animation
sequence, and you can print a certificate of achievement. A top score will
guarantee you a place in the high score list. If your performance was less
than perfect, you get the chance to retake the problems you missed. The
exciting graphics, animation and sound effects throughout the game promise
hours of fun and make learning math facts an enjoyable experience!

Record Keeping: The program can keep track of students' progress on files
that can be viewed or printed. These records are valuable in determining
the student's progress and areas of weaknesses.

Problem Editor: A math problem editor lets you customize the existing math
problem files or create some of your own. The editor is "smart", in that
it can complete a partially entered equation for you. Math tests can be
printed out.

MathTris: This falling-blocks style math game takes learning math facts to
a new height (or depth?) of fun. In this game, three "wells" at the bottom
of the ocean floor contain partially completed math equations. You control
a falling gold bar containing the solution to one of the equation and try
to make it land where it completes an equation.

Hardware Requirements: Treasure Hunt Math runs on an IBM PC or compatible,
with DOS 2.1 or higher, 384K of RAM, an EGA, VGA or better graphics
adapter. A dot-matrix or LaserJet compatible printer and a hard disk are
supported but not required.

Availability: Treasure Hunt Math can be ordered by calling 1(800) 829-5519.
Pricing: $19.95 for single user, $79.95 for 5 users lab pack $499.95 for a
site license. A shareware evaluation copy can be obtained from major
on-line services, BBSs (use your modem to dial (415) 323-4398 for a free
download; look for the file THMATH.ZIP), and from shareware disk vendors.
The shareware release does not include the MathTris game.
