COMPUTING, HIGH-SPEED MODEMS AND NETWORK MANAGEMENT

July 6, 1993 -- SUNRISE, FL. -- Two free, half-day seminars, entitled
"Digital Networking Technologies of Today and Tomorrow" and "The Road to
Portable Computing, V.Fast, and Network Management" will be offered during
August and September in a number of southeastern cities. These seminars
are presented by Racal-Datacom for corporate information systems
executives. data communications personnel and journalists.

The "Digital Networking" seminar describes why this technology became
pervasive in the data communications industry: by offering users lower
monthly line charges, faster transfer speeds, greater reliability. reduced
equipment costs, lower maintenance costs, and increased functionality.
This seminar approaches digital technology from both the equipment and
services perspective.

The "Portable Computing" seminar maps out how remote and mobile users can:
connect to networks over cellular communications, minimize connection
costs and maximize speed, send and receive faxes through PCs and laptop
computers, secure the network from unauthorized users, manage remote
equipment from corporate headquarters, and ensure application
compatibility.

This "Portable Computing" seminar will also detail the effects of new
telecommunications standards such as the emerging "V.Fast" modem standard.
("V.Fast" is the nickname for modems capable of data speeds up to 28,800
bits per second.) The implications of new standards and dial technologies,
as well as the growing need for comprehensive network management and
network security. will be described during the seminar.
