Best Power Technology is submitting patent applications on new stabilizing
circuits that assure compatibility between all types of UPS topologies and
new power factor correction (PFC) power supplies, per Europe's IEC 555.
Today's PCs use switched supplies; IEC 555 requires PFC by the end of 1995
-- to reduce harmonics in building wiring -- and will likely become a
world standard. PFC is trouble for a UPS using output voltage sensing for
regulation, but Best's new stabilizer circuit fixes that. Contact Best
