Colorado Spectrum Introduces the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT

July 1, 1993, Fort Collins, Colorado--Colorado Spectrum, maker of
innovative computer accessories, has announced its newest product for
flight and driving simulations, the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT. This compact
external device with sleek aeronautical styling connects to a computer's
serial port and provides a fully functional gameport and a pass-through
serial mouse port. The NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT is the first product specifically
designed to provide full joystick support for IBM PC-compatible notebook
computers.

The NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT is an ideal solution for people who are using a
notebook computer as a desktop replacement. "We think we're typical of our
customers in that as we upgraded from '286 desktop systems to '486s in our
office, we chose notebook computers for their portability and
versatility," said Colorado Spectrum's President Ken Hall. "We merely
swapped out the desktop CPUs for the faster notebooks, plugging our VGA
monitors and large keyboards into the notebooks. Our Mouse Yoke and Mouse
Wheel products already support laptop and notebook computers. It was
natural for us to extend our product family with the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT for
connecting joysticks and rudder pedals.

Bo Viger, NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT Product Manager, commented, "I've been amazed
at how many business associates who own notebooks are 'closet' game
players. We found that a very high percentage of professionals who use
notebooks like to relax with some form of game or entertainment software.
The NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT allows them to add today's top simulations to their
options."

With International Data Corp. estimates of 3.2 million notebook unit sales
in the U.S. alone in '93 and an expected 25% annual growth rate from 1993
to 1996 as predicted by the Data Analysis Group, notebooks are rapidly
replacing traditional PCs on the desktop. By connecting to the serial port
and providing a passthrough mouse connection, the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT allows
continued use of a mouse and keeps the parallel port free for an external
sound device or for a printer or LAN connection.

Major simulation software vendors have already modified their software so
that they can declare their software "Notebook Ready! Some of the many
applications supporting the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT are: ACES OVER EUROPE
(Dynamix); F-15 STRIKE EAGLE III, WORLD CIRCUIT, AIR DUEL, JUMP JET,
F-117A, and GUNSHIP 2000 (Microprose); MIG-29 (Spectrum HoloByte) and
more! The NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT includes installation software and, for
"instant gratification", an update for F-15 STRIKE EAGLE III.

"With minor code changes, we were able to take full advantage of the
fastest growing segment of the personal computer marketplace," said
Kuswara Pranawahadi, Director of New Technology at Spectrum HoloByte. "As
notebooks become predominantly 486-based, and with active color matrix
displays becoming more affordable, we see notebook computers as excellent
platforms for simulations," added Carl Knoch, Microprose Product Manager.

With a U.S. list price of $49.95, the NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT will also be
attractive for desktop PC owners who need a gameport but don't want to
install a game card or lack available card slots. The NOTEBOOK GAMEPORT
will ship in early July, 1993, and will be available at major computer and
software retailers or directly from Colorado Spectrum. Colorado Spectrum
may be reached at (800) 238-5983 or FAX (303) 2251663. The company's
address is 748 Whaler's Way, Suite E-201, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
