D-Sub, Filtering Options for Relay Control Cards Reduce EMI-RFI

July 15, 1993 -- BEVERLY, Mass. -- The option of filtered or unfiltered
D-sub connectors is now available for a series of PC/XT/AT or EISA
bus-compatible relay control cards from DDI Inc.

Filtered D-Sub connectors are an acknowledged method for effectively
filtering out EMI-RFI, necessary for compliance with FCC Class A or Class
B regulations. In addition to providing shielding against source
interference, the D-Sub option can also prevent the intrusion of outside
EMI-RFI into the system. Filtering is available from DDI according to
customer needs and specifications.

"The filtered D-Sub connector option," emphasizes Erik Valeur, DDI
president, "can provide shielding against interference coming into or
leaving the system. We can provide filtering to any level required; like
all our products, it is an option driven by our customers requirements."

The DDI D-Sub option is available for the 8600 Series Relay Output Control
Cards, which offer a wide variety of relay types, including reed, mercury,
solid state or electromechanical normally open or normally closed, and in
the near future, alternative action. A variety of electrical
configurations are also available for control of virtually any type of
electrical signal.

Today plug-in board-level products from DDI, Inc. switch AC or DC loads
directly from IBM PC/EISA/STD bus systems to provide simple, low-cost
detection and response solutions. Current applications include process
control, alarms and security monitoring, communications, component
testing, laboratory switching and many other applications.

Providing simple, low-cost detection and response solutions that switch
internal loads directly from embedded or stand-alone PC or STD bus systems
is the goal of five year old DDI, Inc. Today, plug-in board-level products
from DDI are used in process control, telecom, alarms and security
monitoring, communications, component testing, laboratory switching, and
