Belkin Components, the Leading Supplier of Cable Assembly Products and
Printer Sharing Devices, Launches the 3+3 Multi-port Ethernet Print
Server

Compton, CA--Belkin Components, the leading supplier of cable assemblies
and printer sharing products to dealers nationwide, begins shipping their
new 3+3 Ethernet Print Server today. This announcement is indicative of
Belkin's commitment to providing an ever expanding product line in the LAN
device marketplace.

The 3+3 server is a stand-alone unit which is unique in that it offers 3
Ethernet connections all in one box: AUI, BNC, and 10BaseT. It services 3
printer connections, 2 parallel and one serial. The unit now shipping
features one DMA high speed parallel port (throughput speeds of up to
756Kb/s), and one standard parallel port. There is a unit which features
two DMA high speed parallel ports now in development.

The 3+3 print server installs as an independent node on the network making
the need for dedicated PC print servers obsolete. Print speed is vastly
improved using the 3+3 as the print jobs do not have to be sent to a
dedicated PC, and the high speed parallel port ensures that no bottlenecks
develop on the segment where the 3+3 is installed. The 3+3 supports Novell
2.x and 3.x and uses standard Netware queues.

"When developing a new product Belkin always tries to engineer the problems
out of existing products in the marketplace," said Steve Bellow, Vice
President of Sales and Marketing. "The 3+3 addresses the two major
complaints against the existing print servers: lack of flexibility in
network connections, and the tendency to slow down the network. The 3+3
actually speeds up network Printing speeds while offering all of the usual
benefits of taking the print burden off of a dedicated PC. The three
Ethernet connections we offer address all possible connection
applications. This will make it a product which is very comfortable for
our dealers to stock."

"We wanted to roll out a product which addressed the widest application
spectrum first," continued Bellow, "and, right now, that application is
Netware on Ethernet. But this is an ongoing development commitment for us,
and before the end of the year we expect to release printer resident
servers which will work in the MIO slot on the Laserjet IV, as well as
multi protocol servers which handle UNIX TCP/IP. A Token Ring equal to the
3+3 should be available during the 3rd quarter of 1993."

Suggested List on the 3+3 Print Server, Model #F5G101, is $595.00. Liberal
dealer and Distributor discounts available.
