IBM PC COMPANY PRESIDENT TO DELIVER PC EXPO PLENARY

Robert Corrigan to Address IBM PC Company Revitalization and Significance
for PC EXPO Attendees in Address on June 30

Fort Lee, NJ, June 7 -- Robert J. Corrigan, president of the IBM PC
Company, will deliver the plenary address at the upcoming PC EXPO in New
York on Wednesday, June 30. Mr. Corrigan will discuss his company's
revitalization and future directions in "The IBM PC Company: On the
Comeback Trail."

The Eleventh Annual PC EXPO in New York show and conference will take place
June 29 - July 1, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York
City. The PC EXPO Plenary Address will be held on Wednesday, at 11:15
a.m., in the Special Events Hall of the Javits Center.

Mr. Corrigan will chart the evolution of the IBM PC Company -- a separate
operating unit of the IBM Corporation Personal Systems line of business --
into a highly focused company developing, manufacturing and marketing PCs
worldwide. The PC Company is gaining market share, responding to customer
needs and delivering competitive technology, according to Mr. Corrigan. He
will also outline the company's turnaround strategy, and plans for the
future.

Since joining IBM Corporation in 1962 as an engineer in East Fishkill, NY,
Mr. Corrigan held various managerial positions with IBM at locations in
New York and Paris, France. Mr. Corrigan was named president of the
Systems Technology Division in February 1988. He was elected an IBM vice
president in 1989, and was named president of the Entry Systems Division
in November 1990. Mr. Corrigan assumed his current position in September
1992.

Portable technology will be displayed throughout the PC EXPO show floor,
which spans three levels of the Javits Center. Many PC EXPO exhibitors are
PCMCIA members, including: Advanced Micro Devices, Dell, Epson America,
Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Logitech, Lotus, Megahertz, NCR, Panasonic,
Texas Instruments and Zenith Data Systems, to name a few.

The pavilion will be just one showcase at PC EXPO in New York, which will
feature more than 800 exhibitors at this year's show. There will also be
Multimedia and Windows/OS/2 Pavilions. The exhibits portion of the show
will be complemented by the PC EXPO Seminar Series, featuring 80 seminars,
including mobile computing topics.
