BILL GATES TO DELIVER PC EXPO KEYNOTE ADDRESS

Microsoft Chairman and CEO Will Announce New Technology in Speech Opening
Premier Computer Trade Show

(New York, NY, June 29) -- Microsoft chairman and CEO will provide his
vision of new information technology on the horizon for business
computing, when he delivers the keynote address today at the Eleventh
Annual PC EXPO in New York. Mr. Gates is expected to announce new products
in his speech, "New Technology for the Information Age."

The keynote will take at 9 a.m., in the Special Events Hall of the Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center. Following the speech, Mr. Gates will answer
questions from the media at 10:00 a.m., in Room 1D05-06 of the Javits
Center, near the keynote location.

This is the second time that Mr. Gates has delivered the PC EXPO keynote
address. Microsoft will also be exhibiting at the show, along with 800
other exhibitors of computer hardware, software and services. PC EXPO show
hours will be: Tuesday and Wednesday -- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Thursday --
10 a.m. to p.m.

Dan Ness, Senior Industry Analyst at Computer Intelligence (CI), and a
member of the PC EXPO Advisory Board, said Mr. Gates' speech will be
relevant to the PC EXPO attendee whether they are buying, selling or using
the latest technologies. CI is a computer industry market research firm in
LaJolla, CA.

"With every new technology, there seems to be more questions than answers,"
said Mr. Ness. "I expect Mr. Gates, in his usual style, to cut through the
fog and give us some answers. It will be a must-see presentation."

Mr. Ness will moderate two sessions, "The Great Operating Systems Debate,"
and "What's Hot and What's Not," as part of the largest PC EXPO Seminar
Series ever, with 77 conference sessions running during the show.

Will South, another PC EXPO moderator, noted Microsoft has been successful
in desktop computing, and that he hopes Mr. Gates will discuss his
company's plans for enterprise-level computing. Mr. South is Manager of
Catalog Research and System Development at Automotive Controls Corp., a
division of Echlin Inc., in Branford, CT.

"With the introduction of new products, Microsoft wants to capture the
market share of enterprise and client/server computing," said Mr. South.
"Mr. Gates will have to prove Microsoft's new products have the power,
dependability and the ability to co-exist with installed operating
systems." Mr. South will moderate the "Coexistence of Windows and Other
Environments" session at PC EXPO in New York.

In addition to Microsoft, PC EXPO exhibitors include: Adobe, Aldus, Apple
Computer, AST Research, Borland, Claris, Compaq, Computer Associates,
Corel, Dell, Digital Equipment Corp., Epson America, GRiD Systems,
