KRON Video Enterprises and Scholastic Launch Videodisc Series That Brings
Cutting-Edge Technology Into The Classroom

High Tech Reports, with reporter Richard Hart, Introduces Students to the
Latest Breakthroughs in Science and Technology

NEW YORK, NY, May 7, 1993 - Today's children, as young adults, will be
running vast computer networks, holding meetings in cyberspace and
creating environmentally sound lifestyles with sophisticated technology.
Yet these same children today work in classrooms without the awareness of
current technology developments. KRON Video Enterprises and Scholastic
Inc. announced today the shipping of a line of products that promises to
fill this vacuum. The two companies have joined forces and created an
interactive videodisc series of High Tech Reports for schools.

The High Tech Reports series, hosted by Emmy-award winning producer,
writer, and reporter Richard Hart, consists of a three-volume videodisc
library, each of which contains 30 fast-paced two-minute stories. Each
story outlines an emerging technology or research development in exciting,
enlightening detail. Hart demystifies high-tech subjects with engaging
demonstrations, including a weightless flight in an experimental aircraft
and a morning walk through a miniature home-made video game. Exploring
topics ranging from cholesterol-free milk to a car that runs on sunshine
to virtual reality, Hart's talent for simplifying the complex brings
science to life for young people.

"I'm thrilled about the opportunity to distribute the High Tech Reports
series to schools," says Hart. "It's a chance for me to show kids that
it's cool to be a scientist. It's an opportunity to hook them early with
the hottest, latest stuff."

Scholastic, one of the nation's largest publishers and distributors of
children's books and educational materials, is distributing the High Tech
Reports series to the education market. All reports are directly related
to traditional science curricula in astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics
and communications, enabling teachers to easily incorporate the series
into basic science lessons. Designed for grades 4 through 12, the series
organizes today's most inspiring science applications into three different
volumes.

* Volume 1: Technology and the Natural World, includes segments on
biotechnology, health, food, the environment and the disabled.

* Volume 2: Technology and the Information Age, covers computers, video,
audio, robots and the latest developments in technology for the
household.

* Volume 3: Technology and the Physical World, contains information on
energy, aerospace, transportation, materials and the military.

Each volume includes a 12" videodisc and bar-coded Teaching Guide, which
specifies links to the science curriculum, provides technical background
information, furnishes complete transcripts and vocabulary definitions,
and suggests questions for discussion.

High Tech Reports requires a videodisc player (Pioneer 2000, 2200, 2400,
4200, 4400, 6000A, 6010A, or 8000; or Sony 1100,1200,1450,1500, or 1550);
color video monitor (composite type), and bar code reader or remote
control. The net to educators price is $195.00 for a single volume;
$495.00 for the complete three-volume series.
