TOR announces ELCUT 3.0A -- a 2D Finite Element Analysis System for PC.

ELCUT is a simulation package, which solves plane and axisymmetric problems
of electrostatics, nonlinear DC magnetics, current flow, nonlinear heat
transfer and stress analysis. ELCUT is able to solve problems of up to
100,000 degrees of freedom on almost any IBM compatable personal
computer.

ELCUT was developed to make field calculations maximum fast, easy and
intuitive clear. After 3 hours playing with ELCUT, you can solve quite
complicated problem in 15 minutes.

ELCUT prices vary from $950. to $3950. dependently on simulation packages
included. All packages are $5950. The cost of university site license is
$500. per year.

The educational version of ELCUT (500 degrees of freedom) is available as a
shareware for educational use and evaluation from the SIMTEL20 archive and
its mirrors. At WSMR-SIMTEL20.Army.Mil and OAK.Oakland.Edu:

ELCUT COMPONENTS

With the model editor, you can define a finite element model quickly,
easily, and completely in the ELCUT preprocessing phase. You also can
import model fragments from AutoCAD or other CAD system. You can easily
control the mesh density at several significant points. The smooth mesh in
the whole region is produced automatically and very quickly.

The interactive postprocessor will help you to analyze the results with
various forms of presentation: field lines, color maps, X-Y plots, etc.,
calculate different surface and volume integral quantities in the contours
of arbitrary shape. It also can produce the tabulated output to a file for
subsequent use in your own program.

The solvers based on an innovative Domain Decomposition method are 10 to 50
times faster than any analogous program for PC. Optimum domain
decomposition is produced automatically at the preprocessing stage.

Specific time expences for solving linear magnetic problem of 50,000 nodes
on different PC platforms are as follows:

     PC/AT-286/287 (16MHz, 2Mb RAM): 45 Min.
     PC/AT-386/387 (25MHz, 8Mb RAM): 8 Min.
     PC/AT-486 (33MHz, 8Mb RAM): 3.5 Min.
