Ipswitch, Inc. is pleased to announce Piper/IP, a TCP/IP product for DOS
and Windows that uses less than 1% of base memory. The Piper/IP kernel
runs in protected mode, above 1 MB.

Piper/IP Highlights

# Uses less than 1% of base memory (less than 6K)
# Transfers at up to 500 K bytes per second
# Complete set of TCP/IP utilities, plus NFS, NetBIOS, SNMP Agent
# Windows front end
# Broad 3rd party support, including:
     * SQL databases
     * Terminal emulators
     * X-Windows
     * Internet utilities
# Winsock interface
# Compatible with NetWare, VINES, LAN Manager, LAN Server
  and Windows for Workgroups
# Compatible with HIMEM.SYS, EMM386, 386MAX and QEMM
# Network-aware full-screen installation with on-line help
# Network-installable

Piper/IP's installation program is network-aware. It recognizes NetWare,
VINES, LAN Manager, LAN Server, Windows for Workgroups and Packet drivers
and automatically configures Piper/IP to share the installed network
driver and to run concurrently with the LAN. Piper/IP can also be
installed from a file server, reducing installation time to five minutes
per workstation.

Piper/IP's Telnet server lets users Telnet into a PC from any TCP/IP host.
When diagnosing users' configuration programs, administrators can, instead
of having to walk to a given PC, just Telnet into it and have access to
all of the configuration information needed to solve problems. The
Piper/IP Telnet server is also useful for individual users, who can
connect to their PC from home or another office. Piper/IP also includes
FTP, TFTP, RSH and REXEC servers.

Piper/IP's user authorization database helps prevent unauthorized access to
the Piper/IP PC by encrypting passwords for Telnet, FTP and other Piper/IP
servers. With the Piper/IP PC physically stored in a secure location,
access can be restricted to specific programs or directories for each
user. With Piper/IP's user authorization, a PC can be set up as an
anonymous FTP server.

Piper/IP supports a wide variety of 3rd party products for Windows and DOS,
including databases, X-Windows, terminal emulators and popular Internet
utilities.

Piper/IP includes both an NFS client, with record and file locking, and an
NFS server.

Piper/IP's NetBIOS lets NetBIOS applications run over TCP/IP, even across
IP routers. Because of this, NetBIOS applications can communicate across
large, routed networks, including the Internet. The remote end does not
need wide area NetBIOS support.

The Ipswitch Developer's Kit supports Microsoft and Borland C for
developing Berkeley Sockets applications to run over both Piper/IP and
Catipult, Ipswitch's NetWare to TCP/IP gateway. Piper/IP and Catipult
applications are binary-compatible.

System requirements:

   # A personal computer with an 80286, 80386 or 80486 processor.
   # 1.5 MB of memory
   # DOS 3.1 or greater.
   # An Ethernet, Token Ring or ARCnet network interface card with
     an NDIS, ODI, Packet or VINES driver.

Piper/IP is priced at $375 per PC.  A 5-pack sells for $1,195 and a 10-pack
for $1,995. Site license pricing for 20 or more users is available.
