HYPERLOGIC RELEASES LOW-END FUZZY LOGIC TOOL TARGETED FOR EDUCATIONAL USES

Escondido, California -- June 29, 1993 -- HyperLogic Corporation today
announced the availability of a Windows-based educational tool for fuzzy
logic experiments. The new product, called CubiQuick, provides many of the
features of HyperLogic's popular CubiCalc fuzzy logic shell at a lower
price, with further discounts available for academic use.

"Fuzzy logic is useful because it makes a lot of sense," remarked Fred
Watkins, President of HyperLogic Corporation. "But without a way to try
it, people think it's for rocket scientists. CubiQuick gives them an
inexpensive way to set up and run small projects to see what it's all
about. You can solve real problems with CubiQuick, just not very big
ones."

CubiQuick is priced at $179.00, with an academic price of $125.00 for
individual instructors and students in the United States and Canada.
Additional discounts are available for classroom use. "A lot of CubiCalc
users are university professors who want something more affordable for
their students," said Watkins. "But," he continued, "we also expect to see
corporate users who just want to find out what fuzzy logic can do for
them. Books and articles can only go so far. "

CubiQuick lets users define fuzzy rules, then apply them to their own data
or simulation. The rules can have up to three input variables and a single
output variable, with up to five fuzzy sets, or adjectives, used to
describe each variable. The tool has a built-in computation language for
preprocessing data taken from external files or simulating external
responses to fuzzy control actions. Results from the rules and
user-defined non-fuzzy computations can be plotted or displayed
numerically. ASCII input and output files provide links with other
programs.

Fuzzy logic is a technique for doing mathematical computations using
English-like statements of the desired results instead of formulas. The
term "fuzzy" refers to the terms used in the rules, such as "large" or
"fast. " The technique has been used in many commercial products in Japan
and is becoming more popular in the United States. Users of HyperLogic's
CubiCalc product line apply fuzzy logic to problems in process control,
robotics, medicine, finance, and consumer product development.

Based in Escondido, California, HyperLogic Corporation is a leading
supplier of fuzzy logic tools. Its CubiCalc software, introduced in 1990,
was the first fuzzy logic shell for non-programmers available in the U. S.
Known for its ease-of-use and smooth integration of fuzzy and non-fuzzy
processing, CubiCalc has the largest installed base for fuzzy logic
software tools in the U. S. * Other products in the line include CubiCalc
RTC, a version for programmers, and CubiCard, a combination of hardware
and software for control applications.
