MOLDFLOW ANNOUNCES NEW FLOW ANALYSIS REFERENCE MANUAL.

(Shelton, Connecticut -- June 24, 1993) Moldflow Pty., the world's leader
in CAE technology for the plastic injection molding industry, announces
the release of the "Flow Analysis Reference Manual", a 237 page hard-bound
book which describes the theoretical background of computer simulation of
the injection molding process for thermoplastics. The manual is designed
to give engineers an understanding of the scientific principles on which
flow analysis software is based. The major areas covered in the manual
include: materials properties for flow analysis, governing equations of
fluid flow, mathematical models for injection molding, finite element
formulation and numerical solution of these mathematical models. Requisite
background material to support the development of the main ideas is
included making the manual a self-contained introduction to this
technology.

The Flow Analysis Reference Manual was written by Peter Kennedy, Product
Manager for Moldflow, in response to many of the company's customers who
have asked for a detailed description of the scientific principles upon
which Moldflow flow analysis is based. The manual was written to make
these scientific principles accessible to any interested engineer, and is
available from your local Moldflow office and distributor.

Moldflow has pioneered computerized analysis of plastic injection molding,
which improves product performance, reduces scrap, shortens design
leadtimes and lowers design and manufacturing costs. Products include:
MOLDFLOW/FLOW -- plastics flow analysis to optimize cavity layout, polymer
selection and processing conditions; MOLDFLOW/COOL --- mold cooling
analysis to optimize cooling line geometry and processing conditions;
MOLDFLOW/WARP -- molding shrinkage, warpage and stress analysis to
minimize product distortion; MOLDFLOW/SHRINK -- plastics shrinkage
analysis to predict optimum shrinkage values to meet critical dimensions;
and MOLDFLOW/GAS -- designed to simulate and analyze the emerging
technology of Gas Injection Molding (GIM).
