Pioneer Software Announces Q+E MultiLink/VB--A Client Server Development
Tool for Linking Visual Basic to all Major Databases

SAN JOSE--January 20, 1993--Pioneer Software announced today the release of
Q+E MultiLink/VB, a complete client server development tool that links
Microsoft Visual Basic applications to more than 20 PC and SQL database
systems.

With Q+E MultiLink/VB and Visual Basic 2.0, developers can build complete
client server applications that access data in virtually any corporate
database and distribute the applications royalty free. Q+E MultiLink/VB is
not only powerful, it's easy to use. Custom controls added to the tool bar
enable the user to develop Visual Basic applications without writing
code.

"We responded to our customers' requests to provide the same power and
functionality of Q+E Database/VB, our best-selling database add-on for
Visual Basic, for all major client server databases," said Richard
Holcomb, president, Pioneer Software. "Q+E MultiLink/VB is fast and easy
and can display data accessed from multiple formats on the same form. And
because it works the same for all database formats, users don't have to
learn a different interface for each database. They can even define
complex queries without knowing SQL."

Powerful graphical database development tools assist developers

Q+E MultiLink/VB includes graphical development tools to assist developers.
Powerful features include custom controls, the Database Manager and the
Query Builder--tools that transform Visual Basic into a complete client
server development tool.

Q+E MultiLink/VB adds a set of custom controls to the Visual Basic toolbar,
enabling developers to create powerful applications without writing code.
Users can edit, insert, update or delete database records from within the
application.

With the Database Manager, users can create, view, modify and delete
databases from within Q+E MultiLink/VB. Developers can design a database
table and specify the field names, data types and field lengths--then link
the table to an application. The Query Builder leads developers through
the creation of sophisticated SQL Select Statements in a few simple
steps.

Q+E MultiLink/VB accesses the following database formats: Oracle, SQL
Server, dBASE, INGRES, Paradox, Sybase, DB2, AS/400 (SQL/400), Btrieve,
OS/2 DBM, INFORMIX, NetWare SQL, Excel, PROGRESS, SQLBase, XDB, SQL/DS,
Tandem NonStop SQL, Teradata, text files, HP ALLBASE/SQL and HP IMAGE/SQL
and gateways: IBM DDCS/2, Micro Decisionware and Sybase Net-Gateway.

Pricing and availability

The suggested retail price of Q+E MultiLink/VB, which will be available
March 31, 1993, is $399. Applications developed with MultiLink/VB can be
distributed royalty free. Sales inquiries should be directed to Pioneer
