Videotex Announces Version 3.5 of T-BASE Imaging Library.

Includes New Features and a Complete Document Imaging Application

(March 1, 1993) __ Version 3.5 of T-BASE, the advanced imaging library from
Videotex Systems Inc, now includes a host of features and DOCS, a complete
document imaging application with source code.

T-BASE allows developers to add pictures and document images to their
database management applications written in C, C++, and virtually every
Xbase dialect. T-BASE supports any image in the PCX9 TGA, DCS, GIF, BMP,
and TIF (including Group III/IV) file formats.

Now included in T-BASE is DOCS, a fully functional, document imaging
application written in Clipper 5.01. Designed to store and retrieve
information, DOCS allows multiple users to access documents and associated
information quickly and easily over a network. Full source code is
provided for easy customization.

DOCS also seres as a robust tutorial for developers wanting a "fast track"
to learn the powerful new features of T-Base 3.5. Such features include
the ability to automatically scan and compress stacks of printed documents
to disk in an unattended mode and network wide document view and retrieval
system.

Version 3.5 of T-BASE incorporates several new features:

* Direct scanner support for HP ScanJet IIc
* Store images in FoxPro memo fields
* Support 80 column text in 320x200x256 mode, and user
  definable fonts
* Sierra chip support for up to 65,536 colors on VGA
* Improved SAYGT colors and sizable screen fonts
* Improved fonts for higher resolution modes

Because it is 100% royalty-free, T-BASE is the most cost-effective document
imaging library on the market today. Users are free to use T-BASE to
develop and sell as many applications as they want.

T-BASE is hardware independent, so it does not limit the user to certain
types of video cards or other equipment. T-BASE automatically detects your
hardware configuration and adjusts itself to work in that configuration.
No other Xbase document imaging library offers this level of hardware
independence.

Other T-BASE features include:

* Support for Super-VGA, VGA, EGA, CGA and monochrome display
* Display for single or multiple images in any location with
  or without existing text
* Automatic scaling and zooming of documents

Using T-BASE 3.5. developers can create all kinds of document and imaging
applications, such as signature verifications, commercial real estate
listing and floor plans, accounting records, vehicle accident reports, and
much more.

Videotex Systems continues to bundle ChromaTools, an advanced color
manipulation and image conversion utility, with T-BASE. ChromaTools makes
it easy to convert images in a variety of file formats into a single
format for inclusion in desktop presentations, CDROM libraries, picture
databases, demo disks, bulletin boards, advertising, kiosks and more.

ChromaTools has a $249 value.

T-BASE 3.5 has a suggested retail price of $495 and is available directly
from Videotex Systems or dealers nationwide. Users can upgrade for only
$75.00.
