SPF/PC Version 3.0, DOWNSIZING TOOL OF CHOICE, SHIPS!

Command Technology Corporation Enhances Market-Leading Programmer's Editor

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - - March 1,1993 - Command Technology Corporation (CTC)
today announced it has shipped SPF/PC Version 3.0, an upgrade to its
market-leading programmer's editor. SPF/PC, a powerful file manager and
full-screen text editor, emulates IBM's ISPF/PDF. The product is designed
specifically for programmers who are making the transition from mainframes
to PCs. Over 250,000 copies have been sold since initial release in 1984,
and are currently in use at 91 of the Fortune 100 companies. SPF/PC v. 3.0
is an upgrade for all previous versions of CTC's products.

SPF/PC v. 3.0 includes complete ISPF/PDF emulation, integration with Micro
Focus COBOL Workbench, and compatibility with all PC COBOL compilers.
SPF/PC brings the ISPF mainframe programming environment to the PC for
both DOS and OS/2- users. The mainframe programmer is given immediate
mastery of his files, and does not require re-training. In fact, SPF/PC
has a zero learning curve for programmers who know ISPF on the mainframe.
Programmers are able to exploit the power of the PC and to dramatically
ease the process of porting mainframe applications to PCs or developing
mainframe applications on PCs.

"SPF/PC is a corporate standard among our client base. Ninety one of the
Fortune 100 corporations use SPF/PC as their downsizing tool of choice,"
said Tim Tetiva, President and CEO of CTC. "Our new version of SPF/PC 3.0
includes: ISREDIT macros via REXX in OS/2 and DOS, support for count
delimited variable length data records up to length 32,000, instant
loading of large files, fully mappable keyboard and mouse, keyboard
macros, fully mappable color schemes for desktop customization, complete
integration with MicroFocus- COBOL Workbench - all features requested by
our customers." An optional CobolXplorer module is available for program
source analysis.

SPF/PC v. 3.0 is used in a wide variety of industries and organizations,
from large to small, that are downsizing applications from mainframes to
LAN-based PCs. The product is used extensively at companies such as
American Airlines, Amoco, General Motors, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Martin
Marietta, Colgate Palmolive, Litton Industries, and TRW.

SPF/PC v. 3.0 requires a 386 or higher PC with a minimum of 2 MB RAM, DOS,
3.1 (or later) or OS/2 1.2 (or later). SPF/PC v. 3.0 replaces all previous
versions of SPF/PC and SPF/2.
