Multi-Tech Systems Earns BZT Approval for 14.4K bps Modem with Fax

MOUNDS VIEW, MINNESOTA -- February 18,1993 -- Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., a
leading manufacturer of data communications equipment, has recently
received German BZT approval for its new MultiModemII (model MT1432BG) to
connect to the PTNs (Public Telecommunications Networks) in Germany. Ralph
Lingner, Sales Manager of the company's office located in Munich, stated,
"This modem offers the highest quality and throughput of any modem that is
currently BZT approved. It is one of only two modems that we know of that
can be used effectively to send faxes by satellite to New York from Munich
overcoming the unfavorable line conditions that normally exist over that
connection."

The MT1432BG is the first BZT-approved Multi-Tech 14,000 bps data and fax
modem. It incorporates the CCITT V.17 and V.32bis standards to handle
higher-speed applications for sending data and fax files. It also offers
full-duplex CCITT V.32 compatibility and V.42bis compression, along with
V.42, V.25bis, V.23, V.22bis, V.22 and V.21 standards compliance. It also
meets CCITT standards at 9600, 4800, 2400,1200, and 300 bps and provides
CCITT V.42 error correction for 100 percent data integrity.

Bundled with both MultiExpressFax and MultiExpress data communications
software (which provides a number of the most popular file transfer
protocols), the modem is priced at 2099 Deutschemarks, MT1432BG will be
available for shipping in March.

The modem's compact extruded aluminum desktop enclosure offers rugged and
efficient styling along with high reliability in state-of-the-art modem
technology. Its dip-switches are easily accessible through the side of the
enclosure, and additional commands mean that changes to the switch setting
are very unlikely. The new integrated circuit designs have reduced power
requirements, resulting in not only a smaller power supply but also more
reliable operation.

Multi-Tech will be exhibiting the MT1432BG and the rest of its product line
at CeBIT '93 in, Hannover Germany at Halle 14, Stand E20/E21, BOOTH G3,
G4.
