DEVELOPER'S KIT SIMPLIFIES ADVANCED MOTION CONTROL

March 18, 1993 -- Chelmsford, MA - The MC1400 Developer's Kit simplifies
the task of designing-in the MC1400, a DSP-based motion control chipset
that provides 4 axis of servo control, and includes advanced features such
as complex contouring, velocity feedforward servo filtering, and
electronic gearing.

The Developer's Kit includes a ready-to-plug-in IBM XT/AT board, as well as
a software package that exercises all of the functions of the MC1400
chipset. To create a complete working system, only external amplifiers and
servo-motors are needed. The Developer's Kit can be used as the basis for
a MC1400 software development platform, or as a stand-alone MC1400 chipset
exerciser.

The PC board fits into a half-size XT/AT or ISA compatible board slot. It
accepts 4 axes of incremental encoder input, and provides either PWM or
analog output signals. A generic 8 bit input port is also provided.

The software package has an easy to use menu-oriented interface. It
provides low-level, direct communications to the chipset, or convenient
integrated functions to perform higher-level macros. Also included is a
variety of C-source code libraries that show how the MC1400 can be
programmed to provide functions such as circular interpolation.

The Developer's Kit is available for $1,495. The MC1400 chipset is
available for $ 99 (100)
