BOXER/TKO Provides Large-File Editing Capability

Protected Mode Operation Enables Swap-Free Editing Sessions

PETERBOROUGH, NH - February 20, 1993 - BOXER/TKO, a new product from Boxer
Software, provides the ability to use up to 16MB of installed RAM for
editing large text files. Through the use of DOS Extender technology,
BOXER/TKO is able to run in the Protected Mode of 80x86 CPUs, thereby
gaining natural access to large amounts of RAM. All editing operations are
very fast, as their is no need for the disk or memory swapping which
occurs when editors use a Virtual Memory technique.

BOXER/TKO uses the 286/DOS-Extender developed by Phar Lap software, an
industry leader in DOS Extender technology. A DOS Extender permits a
program to benefit from running in Protected Mode, even when the
underlying operating system (DOS) is running as a Real Mode program. In
Protected Mode, access to installed memory is achieved without the need to
swap through an area in lower memory, as occurs with other extended memory
schemes.

BOXER/TKO features Color Syntax Highlighting, which enables programmers to
view and edit program code in a multi-color display, with comments,
reserved words, string and numeric constants and symbols appearing in
user-defined colors. This feature enhances programmer productivity by
distinguishing various program elements from one another, and by alerting
programmers to mistakes before program compilation is attempted. Built-in
support is provided for all major programming and telecommunication script
languages; users can easily customize the feature to highlight other
languages.

Color Syntax Highlighting can help programmers detect the types of errors
that go unnoticed by a compiler, and might require hours to locate. If a
comment sequence is left unclosed, subsequent text will appear in comment
coloration, making the problem readily apparent. If a string sequence is
left unclosed, subsequent text appears in string coloration. BOXER/TKO can
also be configured to highlight text as it is typed, so when a reserved
word is misspelled, the mistake will be noticed.

BOXER/TKO is priced at $89.00, plus $6/$8 for U.S./Overseas shipping,
respectively. BOXER/TKO includes printed reference manual, quick reference
card, and a coupon for 1 Free upgrade. BOXER/TKO requires an 80286 or
better CPU, DOS 3.3 or better, and a hard drive with approximately 1 MB
free space. 2 MB or more of installed RAM is recommended. Contact: Boxer
