INDEPENDENT SURVEY PROVES PC EXPO IN CHICAGO ATTRACTS A LOYAL AUDIENCE OF
MIDWESTERN COMPUTER BUYERS

Attendees Come to PC EXPO to Purchase New or Specific Products; Keep
Informed of Latest Technological Advances

(February 19, 1993, Fort Lee, NJ) -- PC EXPO in Chicago is strategically
positioned as the key trade show for Midwest computer professionals and
resellers, according to a recently released independent research report by
Waterman Associates in San Rafael, California.

The trade show, now in its eighth year, will take place October 19-21,
1993, at McCormick Place East in Chicago, Illinois. As many as 162 of the
Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the Midwest, and business
professionals from these companies attend PC EXPO in Chicago because it is
the only comprehensive computer trade show in the region. The 1992 show
had record attendance of 29,212 corporate volume buyers and resellers.

A written survey was mailed to a random sample of 1992 PC EXPO in Chicago
attendees. The industries they represent include finance, government,
education, engineering, medical/healthcare, and manufacturing.

"The purpose of the survey was threefold: to ascertain why computer
professionals attend PC EXPO in Chicago, to find out if they would attend
the show again, and to determine the hottest products and services in
demand by these buyers," said Peter Brunold, show manager for PC EXPO in
Chicago.

According to the research findings, 94 percent of the attendees came to PC
EXPO in Chicago to "purchase/see new products/keep current," while 63
percent "wanted to find out about specific products."

The report also revealed that 90 percent of the corporate computer
professionals who attended PC EXPO in Chicago in 1992, plan to attend the
show again in 1993. In addition, an astounding 100 percent of volume
buyers from government, education, finance, insurance and real estate
industries indicated they would attend the 1993 show. Even more
impressive, less than 10 percent plan to attend any other show (including
Comdex Spring or Fall) in 1993.

Among the software products that were of high interest to buyers were:
networking/LAN products, database software, Windows and OS/2 applications,
and multimedia products. In the hardware category, attendees expressed
prominent interest in printers, laptop/notebook/palm PCs.
desktop/workstation computers, scanners, and imaging products.

"In 1993, the eighth annual PC EXPO in Chicago will be the only major
computer show that targets the information technology needs in the
heartland of Corporate America," said Mr. Brunold. "These research
findings substantiate that the show has successfully been meeting the
needs of the second most important market in the country."
