New Programmable Pattern Recognition Capabilities Now Available for LabVIEW
for Macintosh

40 Percent Educational Discount Offered to Colleges and Universities

January 27, 1993 - Austin, TX - GenIAS Corporation (Lowell, MI) and
National Instruments (Austin, TX) announced today GENMATCH, a new
programmable pattern recognition process virtual instrument (VI) add-on
package for LabVIEW for the Macintosh.

GENMATCH is the first measurement system of its kind to measure an entire
pattern, as opposed to a single point measurement, such as voltage or
frequency. It provides unprecedented capabilities for feature extraction
of signals requiring observation in either the time or frequency domain.
GENMATCH measures signals from all frequency portions of the acoustic and
electromagnetic spectrum, in addition to optical signals. It treats
complex time/frequency patterns the same way that a programmable voltmeter
treats voltage measurements, nominal values +/-, and user selected
tolerance. GENMATCH is used in a variety of military and commercial
application areas, including communications and signal measurement,
robotics/optical signal measurement, chemical composition analysis,
acoustic analysis, ultrasonics, seismic analysis, and physiological signal
measurement.

About LabVIEW

LabVIEW is a general-purpose programming tool with extensive libraries for
data acquisition, instrument control, data analysis, and data
presentation. LabVIEW is available for Windows-based PCs, Sun
SPARCstations, and Macintosh computers. With engineers and scientists
build software modules called virtual instruments instead of writing
text-based programs. LabVIEW features a library of ready-to-use controls,
graphs, and strip charts for quickly and easily building custom user
interfaces and control panels. With LabVIEW, users build block diagrams as
the executable programs.
