ScanMatch 2.0 Supports Slide Scanners and ColorSync

San Francisco, January 6th, 1993 - Savitar, Inc. today announced version
2.0 of its ScanMatch scanner calibration software. Since its initial
release in September 1991, ScanMatch has shipped more than 25,000 copies,
making it the mostly widely used color calibration product on the market.

ScanMatch 2.0 new features include support for both slide (transparency)
and flatbed (reflective) scanners, improved color matching fidelity, and
compatibility with Apple Computer, Inc.'s new ColorSync color matching
software.

ScanMatch 2.0 is being premiered at Apple Computer's ColorSync Event Room
at the Macworld Exposition (January 6-9th).

ScanMatch scanner calibration software enables users to capture color
accurate images onto their computer screens without time consuming manual
color correction. By scanning the included calibration target, ScanMatch
2.0 creates a ColorSync scanner profile precisely tuned to the scanner's
color characteristics. This scanner profile is then used to optimize
future scans so that the image displayed on the monitor automatically
matches the original artwork.

According to Rudy Burger, Savitar's President and CEO, "Savitar's ScanMatch
was the first desktop product to calibrate color from input devices such
as scanners. ColorSync now enables ScanMatch users to get calibrated
results all the way from their scanner to their final hardcopy output".

ScanMatch 2.0 is shipped with a Pantone scanner calibration target that is
optimized for calibrating scans of four-color printed materials. Users can
optionally purchase special targets from Savitar to support calibrated
scanning of photographic print and transparency media.

ScanMatch 2.0 runs on any color Macintosh II series or Macintosh Quadra
computer and is shipped with Apple's ColorSync software. It is fully
compatible with industry standard color imaging software, such as Adobe's
PhotoShop. ScanMatch 2.0 supports all Macintosh compatible color scanners
and is bundled with Microtek, Umax and Sharp scanners.

ScanMatch 2.0 for the Macintosh will be available in February 1993 at a
suggested retail price of $199. Registered users can upgrade to ScanMatch
2.0 for $49. Additional targets for calibrated scanning of photographic
prints and transparencies are available for $299.
