QuicKeys Test Drive Honors Channel in Revolutionary Way

West Des Moines, IA, December 31, 1992 - CE SOFTWARE HOLDINGS, INC.
(NASDAQ/NMS Symbol: CESH) today announced the North American release of
QuicKeys Test Drive, a unique method for introducing QuicKeys (or any
software product) to customers. Customers receive free software plus
time-saving QuicKeys shortcuts for their favorite Macintosh operations. CE
resellers benefit by adding free software to their offerings and by
profiting from all associated sales.

It is a revolutionary concept -- resellers who introduce our technology to
their customers will be the ones to profit from it -- every time! CE
Software will urge everyone to copy the software again and again. Every
time Test Drive recipients upgrade, CE will pay the reseller who made the
original copy. The payment will be at a rate approximating the margin
generated by normal "street" pricing.

CE Software has found that increasingly fewer resellers can give mind share
to software products. "Most resellers must concentrate on selling
hardware, services or software volume, not individual software products,"
said Ford Goodman, Executive Vice President of the company. QuicKeys Test
Drive adds value for all resellers. Additionally, resellers who introduce
our technologies to customers are the CE partners that receive margins in
return.

"We wanted to find a way to introduce QuicKeys to every Macintosh while
honoring our channels," said Goodman. " And resellers consistently ask us
for methods to add value to their services and hardware offerings. Giving
away what amounts to free software is the best way to gain wide
distribution of our unique QuicKeys technologies."

QuicKeys Test Drive is a special version of QuicKeys that comes with
predefined shortcuts for ten of the hottest-selling Macintosh applications
from publishers such as Microsoft, Aldus, Claris, Quark and Adobe.
Additionally, Test Drive comes with the new Instant QuicKeys, an interface
that helps even the novice Macintosh user set up time-saving QuicKeys
shortcuts automatically. Finally, the Test Drive has a "savings
calculator" that measures the return on a user's investment based upon his
usage of shortcuts. The Test Drive runs for six months and is limited only
by the number of each type of shortcut that may be available at a given
time.

Users may call CE for additional free shortcuts and are encouraged to
upgrade to the full QuicKeys version with the QuicKeys editor at any time
for $89. Any shortcut developed with the Test Drive plus all ten
application keysets may be retained subsequent to upgrade.

"No upgrade will be taken without generating a payment and forwarding
customer information to a reseller," said Goodman. CE Software Certified
Resellers will be paid for sales from Test Drives placed by other
partners, such as hardware manufacturers and user groups. CE will announce
details regarding the "Test Drive Placer Program" at Macworld in San
Francisco on January 6th.
