EFI Announces EfiColor Now Available under ColorSync!

EfiColor works seamlessly with ColorSync to offer expanded color management
functionality

MACWORLD EXPO/SAN FRANCISCO--January 6, 1993--Electronics for Imaging, Inc.
(NASDAQ/NMS: EFII) today is demonstrating and will be shipping a new
version of the EfiColor Color Management System that works seamlessly with
Apple Computer, Inc.'s ColorSync Color Management System. The exceptional
color fidelity and consistency as well as broad professional quality that
has distinguished EfiColor across multiple desktop color printers,
scanners and monitors will soon be available to all ColorSync users.

"Making ColorSync an extension to the operating system is as revolutionary
as Apple's putting fonts on every computer. Just as the Macintosh gave
every application access to professional quality type, ColorSync gives
every application access to EfiColor quality color management," said EFI's
founder, Efi Arazi, a well-known pioneer in the digital prepress and
printing industry and founder and former CEO of Scitex Corporation Ltd.

"Until now, applications like QuarkXPress and Cachet that include EfiColor
quality had to build it in through special programming; now any user that
has a ColorSync supporting application or device can achieve EfiColor
quality by simply adding EfiColor into the system folder. Automatically,
that user now has professional color quality. By providing a framework for
color management, ColorSync has practically turned EfiColor into the ATM
(Adobe Type Manager) for color."

Using EfiColor under ColorSync adds precision, flexibility and control for
a wide variety of digital color printers, monitors, scanners and
commercial printing devices. EfiColor enhances the capabilities of
ColorSync by bringing professional level features not available with other
color management solutions:

Color Quality. Whether for page layouts, solid color presentations or
continuous tone photographs, EFI develops profiles in conjunction with
leading device manufacturers to ensure that each profile brings the user
the highest fidelity possible from a given device.

Speed. EfiColor provides fast color conversions. Speed is always important,
especially when working with complex, large color documents.

Professional Color Separations. EfiColor allows any application to support
professional quality color separations. With controls for multiple Gray
Component Replacement (GCR) levels, which are required for brilliant color
separations, the user automatically can get high quality separations that
formerly were the domain of prepress professionals.

Color Matching Across Devices. Because the EfiColor profiles are tuned to
give consistent color across devices, digital color printers can now be
used to judge color and proof for prepress jobs. Printers that were once
used "For Position Only" can be used as accurate color proofers.

PANTONE and TRUMATCH Color. If a document requires named colors (like
PANTONE or TRUMATCH), these colors can now be matched precisely using
ColorSync with EfiColor.
