Magazine Selects Customer Information Resource System as Key Business Tool
for Improving the Enterprise

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, January 12, 1993 -- ProActive Software announced today
that its Customer Information Resource (CIR) system was selected by
Corporate Computing magazine as one of the 50 best products for improving
enterprise computing in 1993. ProActive's CIR system was selected by the
magazine's editorial staff and readers as a "real world" product that can
help companies further their business goals and enable employees to work
smarter. Corporate Computing's "Best Buys for 1993" are featured in the
January issue.

ProActive Software's Customer Information Resource system is a
comprehensive family of enterprise-wide, client/server applications and
tools designed to help companies improve customer satisfaction for a
competitive advantage. The CIR system was developed by founders Steven
Goldsworthy and Roger Sippl in conjunction with Dr. William Davidow,
author of Total Customer Service: The Ultimate Weapon.

CIR applications leverage today's business computing standards to manage
the Customer Information Resource: that is, all the data gathered across a
company about its customers, products, and how customers use those
products. ProActive's CIR system is based on popular relational databases
(SYBASE, INFORMIX, and ORACLE), graphical user interfaces (MS Windows 3.1
and X Windows), a client/server architecture, object-oriented programming
(C++), and automated workflow management. The CIR system provides
comprehensive functionality in the four key areas required to deliver
superior support: Comprehensive Customer/Product Database, Problem Solving
Help, Active Workflow Management, and Satisfaction Measurement and
Reporting.

ProActive's first CIR application, Support Advantage, is developed for
Technical Support, Customer Service, and Help Desk professionals. The CIR
system will also include: Quality Advantage for quality assurance and
product change management; SLT Advantage for sales lead tracking, Product
Advantage for product marketing; Customer Advantage, which enables
customers to service themselves by accessing the CIR database; and Field
Engineering Advantage.
