THE NEXT GENERATION TELEPHONE DIRECTORY IS NOW AVAILABLE

Las Vegas, NV CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW. January 9, 1993. ProCD has
introduced several significant new features to the 1993 edition of
ProPhone, a collection of the nation' s white page listings on CD-ROM. The
new features enable users to search telephone directory listings by
virtually any field. The 1993 edition includes more than 70 million
residential listings and nearly 7 million business listings. While
telephone directories of this magnitude have previously been recorded on
CDROM, ProPhone is the first fully functional national directory priced
for the small business and consumer market. ProPhone' s suggested retail
price is only $449. By comparison, NYNEX charges as much as $65,000 per
year for a similar product.

Jim Bryant, ProCD's founder and President commented, "For over 75 years it
has been possible to pick up a phone and call anyone in the United States.
But until today, it has been difficult to quickly locate business and
individual telephone numbers outside of your community. The 1993 edition
of ProPhone not only solves the problem of how to find a directory
listing, but it singularly redefines the nature of how directory
information will be used in the future. ProPhone replaces the need to rent
compiled mailing lists and empowers the user to make the most use out of
the information contained in telephone directories."

The 1993 edition of ProPhone permits users to download an unlimited number
of records with no additional charges. Users can then easily import the
listings into their word processing, database, or spreadsheet software
programs for further manipulation.

According to Bryant, "We've redefined the way people will use their
telephone directory. ProPhone allows users to instantly identify listings
from over 2000 Business Headings or SIC Codes (Standard Industrial
Classifications). Users can also search for listings by entering a
telephone number, city, state, street name, house number, apartment
number, name or any field in combination with any other field.''

ProPhone contains only published residential and business listings. Most
listings contain a complete mailing address including zip codes. Business
listings contain a field identifying the number of employees and a
description of the company. All listings contain a field identifying the
year the listing was last updated.

According to Scott Beatty, co-founder of ProCD and Vice President of
Marketing, "The 1993 edition is what end users have always looked for in a
telephone directory. " Charles McDermott, ProCD' s Vice President of Sales
indicated that "ProPhone is s much faster than alternatives and requires
very little training. ProPhone accommodates organizations of all sizes as
a tremendously useful marketing tool."

ProCD, Inc. based in Marblehead, MA is committed to change the way people
