SPECTRUM HOLOBYTE TO PUBLISH EUROPEAN FIGHTER JET SIMULATION

Famous Desert Storm Workhorse Tornado to See First-Quarter 1993 Release for
IBM Compatibles

ALAMEDA, Calif., Dec. 11, 1992--Spectrum HoloByte, the leading developer
and publisher of ultra-realistic flight simulations, is pleased to
announce a first-quarter 1993 release of Tornado, based on the renowned
British Aerospace multi-role fighter of the same name. For the first time,
American flyers can experience the thrill of piloting this international
fighter jet that saw extensive service during the Desert Storm conflict
where it was praised for its outstanding low-flying strike capabilities. A
sophisticated simulation model and stunning graphic detail top Tornado's
long list of action-packed features and gameplay.

From cockpit to flight model, Tornado lets sim jocks enjoy the latest in
leading-edge technology. In this two-seater jet--pilot, navigator--players
fly sorties ranging from single-target attacks to multi-aircraft,
multi-mission campaigns with a full arsenal of high-tech weaponry. The
revolutionary 3-D modeling system used in Tornado presents 30,000 square
miles of real-world landscapes with thousands of polygon-filled objects,
rendered in 256-color VGA. The graphics are so detailed that one observer
exclaimed he could "look out of the cockpit and see the mesh of fence
surrounding a radar tower." Dozens of environmental effects include
realistic clouds and haze; reviewers will take particular note of
Tornado's alluring night mode.

Mission planning in Tornado promises to be one of the most accurate around.
It includes a satellite overview of the airfield and the surrounding areas
and lets players set such mission factors as waypoints, altitude and air
speed; the computer provides times, fuel-use needs and a wide assortment
of warnings.

Tornado will allow players to duke it out via modem or head-to-head play or
fly joint missions via modem.

Tornado is being developed in Great Britain by Digital Integration who
worked extensively with British Aerospace, the jet's manufacturer, to
design the most accurate flight dynamics possible. Spectrum HoloByte is
proud to count Tornado among its growing line of top-quality flight
simulations.

Tornado is planned for a first-quarter 1993 release for IBM compatibles. No
price has been established at this time.
