NEC TECHNOLOGIES. INC. EXPANDS SYSTEM FAMILY OF DESKTOP COMPUTERS WITH
i486DX2/66 SYSTEM

Boxborough, Mass., December 8, 1992--Offering users greater variety in its
popular Ready family of low cost, high performance personal computers, NEC
Technologies, Inc. today introduced the Ready 466 system, The Ready 466
system is the highest performing Ready system available to date and adds
even greater depth to the Ready line, which includes the Ready 425 and
Ready 433 systems.

Based on the Intel i486DX2 microprocessor running at 66MHz internally and
33MHz externally, the Ready 466 enables small and home business users to
run demanding, graphics-intensive applications in the Windows environment.
The powerful Ready 466 system comes with 8MB of RAM (expandable to 64MB),
an OverDrive socket and a 240MB IDE hard disk drive (HDD). Shipped
standard with the Ready 466 system is NEC's ReadyRemote Service, a unique
on-line customer support facility, offered free-of-charge to Ready
customers.

For outstanding graphics performance, the Ready 466 offers no wait-state
video and 16 million colors (24-bit True Color). The Ready 466 system also
comes complete with three ISA expansion slots, and accommodates industry
standard SIMMS for easy expansion and inexpensive memory upgrades.

"NEC created the Ready family of personal computers to give customers what
they need: An affordable system that is powerful enough to handle home and
small business applications, but still easy to use," explained Denny Lane,
director of Desktop Marketing at NEC Technologies. "The Ready 466 system
expands the performance capabilities of the line even further, giving
users an even greater price/performance value to handle even the most
demanding applications."

Easy Installation

The Ready 466 system holds true to the Ready "plug and work" philosophy,
enabling users to start working as soon as they take their systems out of
the box--with no time-consuming set-up procedures. To help users get the
most out of their Ready systems, NEC has pre-loaded a wide array of
valuable software on Ready Ready system, including small business
templates, on-line information service, anti-virus and integrated business
application software. All Ready systems are also equipped with an
integrated data/fax modem and fax software that gives users the ability to
fax from within applications.

To ensure that Ready systems are easy to use for even the most novice PC
users, all systems include an easy-to-follow setup video, a "Getting
Started" on-line tutorial, NEC Desktop by Peter Norton--which makes
Windows even easier to use, and NEC's Ready Remote service.

Service and Support: NEC's ReadyRemote Service

In addition to a one-year, on-site limited warranty and unlimited use of a
toll-free Ready support telephone hotline, NEC also offers ReadyRemote
service, a unique remote assistance program through which NEC support
technicians trouble shoot and problem-solve using the modem included with
each Ready system.

If a user's question cannot be quickly answered via a phone call, the user
simply inserts the ReadyRemote support disk and re-starts the system. An
NEC Customer Support technician can then dial into the user's system, view
the user's screen, take control of the system and solve the problem.

To ensure the highest level of system security, the user has complete
control over access to the system. NEC can only dial into the system when
the emergency diskette is issued. Once communication is terminated, it
cannot be restored until the diskette is re-booted by the customer.

Outstanding Graphics Performance

Like the Ready 425 and Ready 433 systems, the Ready 466 system offers
outstanding graphics capability, including No Wait-State Video, which
provides faster throughout and improved Windows performance. The Ready 466
system supports dynamic 24-bit true color applications in 640 x 480
resolution with 16.7 million colors.

A 14-inch, .28 dot pitch, 1024 x 768 non-interleaved Ready Monitor is
available for all Ready systems.

All the Software A Small Business Needs

In addition to Microsoft Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS 5.0. all Ready systems ship
with an extensive array of easy to use application software, including NEC
Desktop by Peter Norton, which simplifies Windows, and Norton AntiVirus.
Also included is Prodigy, an on-line information service; PFS:WindowWorks,
an extensive program complete with word processor, spreadsheet, database,
graphics and label making applications as well as 25 customized NEC small
business templates to save time and add professionalism to documents; and

business accounting package.
