NEW KODAK FILTER WHEEL FOR DCS 200 CAMERA BRINGS 24-BIT COLOR TO STILL
IMAGING APPLICATIONS

NEW YORK, N.Y., Dec. 4--The Kodak color filter wheel accessory announced
today produces a full 24-bit color digital image for studio, catalog and
desktop still imaging applications. The accessory enhances the performance
of the monochrome Kodak professional DCS 200mi digital camera.

The color filter wheel produces, full 24-bit color images using a
motor-driven red, green and blue filter wheel combined with supporting
electronics. Software combines three sequential exposures electronically
to produce the final full color image in as little as 30 seconds. The
accessory operates with Nikon compatible lenses ranging from 18 mm to 135
mm. Users may select either tethered or stand alone operation modes.

In the tethered mode, the color filter wheel and DCS 200mi operate with a
host Macintosh computer having 8 megabytes of RAM (Random Access Memory)
running Adobe PhotoShop software. The camera's acquire module control
panel operates both the camera and the color filter wheel automatically. A
computer with an 80 megabytes internal drive stores up to sixteen 24-bit
color images.

"The new color filter wheel used with the DCS 200mi camera provides an
extremely cost effective tool for studio photographers who need accurate
color images for catalog or product illustration," notes Jim Patton,
general manager and vice-president of Kodak's Professional Imaging
organization, U.S. and Canada Region.

For stand-alone use, the DCS 200mi camera shutter is manually operated
three times, once for each primary color. The color wheel automatically
rotates to the next filter after each exposure.

The DCS 200 digital camera uses a Kodak sensor providing 1.5 million pixels
of resolution. It is built into a special back to fit the Nikon 8008S
camera body. This combination provides rapid auto focus, exposure control,
motorized advance and enormous lens flexibility.

The Kodak color filter wheel accessory measures 11.5 inches wide, by 11.5
inches high, by 3 inches deep and weighs approximately seven pounds.
