INTECHNICA ANNOUNCES VoxBox2 CD-ROM CLIENT SERVER for MULTIMEDIA CD-ROM
BASED APPLICATIONS

November 25, 1992 -- Oklahoma City, OK--Intechnica International, Inc.
announces the next generation of multimedia hardware/software products for
voice-interactive, multimedia, computer-based training systems utilizing
CD-ROM technology. The proprietary VoxBox2 CDROM Client Server will allow
up to twenty users access to six CD-ROM databases holding more than 3
gigabytes of information with retrieval speeds of a few milliseconds.

P. Stanley Bolin, President of Intechnica said, "Currently, traditional
Local Area Network technology doesn't provide a robust solution to allow
multiple user access to large databases. And, when you add the additional
"real-time" burden of multimedia throughput requirements, LAN's perform
poorly or not at all."

Intechnica's VoxBox2 CD-ROM Client Server was originally designed to meet
performance requirements specific to delivering the 1,000+ hours of
Intechnica' voice-interactive language literacy courseware and available
only as a vertically integrated application. With the release of the
second generation of the VoxBox, an important design goal was to ensure
that the client server would run other ISO-9660 CD-ROM applications.

Now, CD-ROM users can purchase the VoxBox2 CD-ROM Client Server separately
from the Intechnica courseware. Six logical CD-ROMs can reside on the
server bus at one time. Thus, multiple CD-ROM based databases can be
offered to the user at the same time. Data transfer speeds in excess of 7
megabits per second access time provide overall system throughput
improvements of 20 times over Intechnica's current VoxBox CD-ROM client
server.

The VoxBox2 CD-ROM Client Server architecture was designed to solve
problems associated with moving voice across a bus or network -- without
degradation in quality or a break in continuity. An additional requirement
was improvement in the access speed for large graphic and video files. "No
longer will users perceive delays when accessing large files containing
voice/video formats," said Reg Mason, Intechnica's Chief System Design
Engineer. "The performance of VoxBox2 has improved access time from
several seconds to a few milliseconds." Beta site testing for the VoxBox2
Client Server will begin in the 1st quarter, 1992 with general
availability by the 2nd quarter, 1993.

Intechnica International pioneered the development of voice-interactive,
multimedia, computer-based training systems utilizing CD-ROM technology in
1987 with the release of I Speak English CD-ROM-based ESL CourseWare.
Intechnica Language Literacy Systems are an integrated hardware, software
and curriculum application utilizing Intechnica's proprietary--READ,
WRITE, LISTEN and SPEAK--individualized learning system. Intechnica
Language Literacy Systems use IBM PC compatible microcomputers, a
proprietary VoxCard sound digitizer and the VoxBox2 CD-ROM Client Server.
