AIMTECH CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR TANDY'S VIS PLATFORM

A New Developers' Program Encourages VIS Title Development Using
IconAuthor

NASHUA, N.H., November 17, 1992 -- AimTech Corporation today announced that
IconAuthor, its Windows authoring tool for developing interactive
multimedia titles, supports Tandy Corp.'s new multimedia player, VIS
(Video Information System), running with Microsoft's Modular Windows
operating system. AimTech also announced a special program to encourage
developers to create VIS titles with IconAuthor.

"Tandy believes that widespread availability of numerous software titles
will drive acceptance for VIS," said Dennis Tanner, Tandy Corp.'s
director, strategic software marketing. "AimTech's commitment to VIS and
response to developer needs have allowed developers using IconAuthor to
quickly build lively, sophisticated interactive learning titles for VIS
using Modular Windows."

"The market for consumer multimedia titles is in its infancy. It is very
important for consumers to quickly see a lot of titles for a new
platform," said Usman Ismail, AimTech's president and CEO. "Developing VIS
titles with Modular Windows and IconAuthor is fast, easy and reliable;
developers can leverage content that is already available and quickly
create a series of titles to run on multiple platforms."

AimTech is providing IconAuthor to title developers free of charge. When
the title ships, developers pay a fee to AimTech for use of the
Presentation System, or runtime version. This allows small developers to
create titles quickly, without a capital expenditure.

"AimTech's Developers' Program provided outstanding support and
responsiveness," said Kurt Rolland, director of development at Multicom, a
member of AimTech's VIS Developers' Program who's currently developing an
interactive cookbook for the VIS platform. "IconAuthor's portability
allows us to port our titles from the MPC to VIS or vice-versa in the
shortest possible timeframe."

IconAuthor allows professional multimedia developers to create advanced,
interactive applications combining text, graphics, animation, full-motion
video and audio. Its icon-based, visual programming environment allows the
non-programmer to create applications and titles for computer-based
training and learning, interactive games, performance support systems,
simulations, self-service terminals and business presentations. IconAuthor
is the only authoring tool of its kind supporting VIS which is based on
Modular Windows.

Ideally suited for rapid cross-platform title development, the Modular
Windows operating system is based on Windows 3.1 and gives title
developers the ability to author an application once and take advantage of
multiple platform players, like VIS and MPC players.

VIS title developers use the same version of IconAuthor as they do to
develop MPC titles. As a-result, well-designed applications can run on
both the MPC and VIS with minimal changes. Development guidelines are
provided to account for hardware differences between these platforms.

More than 15 developers are creating titles for VIS with IconAuthor. Among
those scheduled for release this year are: "Playing With Language Series,"
a series of foreign language and early language instruction titles
developed by Syracuse Language Systems; and "Meeting of Minds," an
educational entertainment game that gives players a series of word, sound,
and picture clues to help them figure out who famous people are. Designed
by JLR Group, Inc., "The Meeting of Minds" is based on Steve Allen's
award-winning The Meeting of Minds television show.

IconAuthor for developing VIS titles requires an MPC, or compatible, and a
mouse. IconAuthor is available immediately to VIS developers under a
special developers' program.

AimTech Corporation, a privately held company with offices in Nashua, N.H.,
Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and London, England, develops and markets
