FLOPTICAL DISKETTES NOW AVAILABLE FROM IOMEGA CORP.

New 21 Megabyte Diskettes Available To OEMs And End Users Through Iomega's
Distribution Channels; Additional Media Source Brings Floptical Technology
Closer To Industry Standardization

Cupertino, CA -- November 16, 1992 -- The Floptical Technology Association
today announced the availability to OEM and end user markets of the
21-megabyte (MB) Floptical diskette by member Iomega Corp., Roy, Utah.
This additional source for Floptical media is another milestone towards
acceptance of Floptical technology as the industry standard for very high
capacity floppy diskette storage.

Iomega, a manufacturer of high-performance removable mass storage products
and a founding member of the Floptical Technology Association, joins major
media manufacturers 3M Corp. of St. Paul, Minn., and Maxell Corp. of
Tokyo, Japan, as the third company licensed by Insite Peripherals, San
Jose, Calif., to develop, manufacture and sell Floptical media products.

The Floptical diskette is designed for use in 3.5-inch Floptical disk
drives manufactured by Insite Peripherals, who has also licensed Iomega as
a manufacturer. The 21MB diskette is capable of storing over 14 times more
data than a 1.44MB disk and 28 times more than a 720KB disk.

The Iomega Floptical diskette is sold in packs of one, five and 25
diskettes at $35.00, $155.00 and $750.00 respectively (suggested retail
prices). The product is sold through Iomega's standard distribution
channels and to OEM customers as well.

"The Iomega Floptical Diskette provides very convenient, cost-effective
secondary storage in a form factor that is highly trusted by end users,"
said Anton Radman, senior vice president of corporate development for
Iomega "The Floptical diskette serves as a medium for data
transportability and interchange, software/data distribution and backup
for small systems."

A spokesman for the Floptical Technology Association said, "Three available
brands of Floptical diskettes, each interchangeable with all Floptical
drive products, which are also downward compatible with the six and a half
billion floppies already in use, demonstrates FTA member commitment to
availability and compatibility. This brings Floptical technology another
step closer to being accepted as the industry standard for very high
capacity floppy diskette data storage."

Iomega's Floptical diskettes are manufactured through a unique laser
etching process to ensure an optical pattern of high contrast while
maintaining a smooth surface for accurate tracking. The Floptical
diskettes contain 1,245 data tracks per inch, compared to just 135 tracks
per inch on conventional floppies, and are factory low-level preformatted
and one hundred percent tested and certified. Iomega, headquartered in
Roy, Utah, develops, manufactures and sells high-performance mass storage
products for desktop and portable computers and workstations.
