ETC INTRODUCES TWO NEW LOW-EMISSION, MPR-II APPROVED MULTISCAN COLOR
MONITORS

14 and 15-inch Monitors for IBM PC/XT/AT, PS/2 and Apple Mac II Protect
From X-Rays, Extremely Low Magnetic and Alternating Electric Fields,
Eliminate Electrostatic Charges, Reduce Monitor Interference

Fremont, CA -- November 16, 1992--- ETC Computer, Inc., a new player in the
monitor market, is introducing two new low-emission color monitors which
conform to the Swedish MPR II guidelines, the world's toughest very low
frequency (VLF) and extremely low frequency (ELF) emission standards. The
monitors are being shown in Booth S4056 at Comdex/Fall '92.

The specially-designed 15-inch Model CA-1560L and 14-inch Model CA-1460L
offer protection from X-rays, prevent the flux of extremely low magnetic
and AC electric fields, eliminate electrostatic charges and minimize
interference between closely located monitors. In addition to satisfying
all MPR II guidelines, the monitors are approved by UL, CSA, TW, TW/GS,
FCC, FTZ, DHHS, and PTB.

"These monitors offer the highest emission protection without the high cost
associated with many low-emission monitors on the market toady," said Kent
Huang, president of ETC. "In addition to added safety and security, the
CA-1560L and CA-1460L can be operated side-by-side with other monitors
without producing any interference, and feature a high vertical frequency
for an easy-on-the-eyes, flicker-free display."

Designed for high-resolution color applications running on IBM PC/XT/AT,
PS/2 and Apple Macintosh II systems, the 15-inch CA-1560L and 14-inch
CA1460L feature flat, non-glare anti-static screens, 0.28mm dot pitch,
maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 noninterlaced, multiple scanning
frequencies from 30KHz to 60KHz and vertical frequencies from 52Hz to
90Hz.

The monitors, with a suggested list price of $519 for the CA-1460L and $669
for the CA-156OL, are currently available separately at list price or at
discounted prices in OEM quantities as a branded View Magic or
private-label product. The monitors are backed by a limited two-year
warranty. These new low-emission monitors feature several unique design
features which add to the user's safety, comfort and productivity
including:

* An X-ray protection circuit which avoids excessive X-rays caused when the
anode potential of the VDU is increased to produce low-emission products.

* A special coating on the surface of the CRT which eliminates
electrostatic charges. When switched on or off, these low emission
monitors register only +5KV (on) or -5KV (off) and level off to 0KV in
five minutes. Conventional monitors peak at 10KV when switched on and drop
gradually to 8KV over 20 minutes. When switched off, conventional monitors
drop to -10KV and gradually increase to 8KV over 40 minutes. Eliminating
electrostatic charges prolongs the life of the monitors' circuitry and
protects against data loss and errors.

* Proprietary engineering techniques and a custom cancellation coil prevent
the flux of extremely low magnetic and AC fields -- an important safety
feature for many users.

* A solid-state deflection yoke minimizes interference between monitors
located from 60cm to 15cm apart, allowing ETC's low-emission monitors to
be closely spaced with other electronic equipment.

ETC offers a full line of economically priced 10-,14- and 15-inch high
performance color monitors, all featuring convenient front-panel controls.
Eight new monitors will debut in ETC's Comdex booth this year, including
three new microprocessor-controlled monitors.

ETC Computer, Inc. is a subsidiary of the ETC Group, which includes three
manufacturing firms producing monitors, systems and auxiliary components
and supplies. The ETC Group recently moved into a new, seven floor,
150,000 square foot building in Taiwan. The new facility features
ultra-modern automated assembly lines and quality control facilities. ETC
Computer monitor products are marketed in the U.S. through its sales and
service organization located at 46711 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538,
