MOBILE "MUSCLE" FOR SERIOUS USERS

New Dauphin 550 Notebook Offers Infinite Storage, 486 Power, and Internal
Ethernet Support

October 21, 1992, Lombard, IL: Dauphin Technology, Inc., one of the leading
suppliers of mobile computing technology to the U.S. Department of Defense
(DOD) and a strong contender in the commercial pen-based arena. will
introduce the Dauphin 550 at the Las Vegas Hilton, Booth #7068 during Fall
COMDEX, November 16-21, 1992.

"Mobile professionals deserve a portable computer with some muscle," says
Alan Yong, Dauphin's President and CEO. "With the on-going PC price wars,
too many inferior me-too products have been flooding the market. Mobile
professionals deserve better and that is why Dauphin is committed to
bringing a new generation of mobile computers to fruition. It's time to
re-define the personal computer. " Dauphin is poised to exploit emerging
technology for its new generation of mobile computers. Packed with a high
powered 486SLC CPU, built-in Ethernet support and breakthrough removable
storage technology, the 550 is definitely a new generation portable
computer.

The Dauphin DynaDrive

The 550 is the world's first dual hard drive mobile computer to feature a
small 60 MB fixed drive and the Dauphin DynaDrive removable diskette
technology. The Dauphin DynaDrive is a superior data storage technology
that consists of an internal fixed drive and an 85 MB removable 2 1/2"
diskette, weighing about an ounce. lt differs from the traditional 1-2
pound removable hard drives in that all electronic and mechanical
components are built into the computer, leaving the media or storage
diskette independent, free to travel anywhere. With a blazing 14 ms access
time, the Dauphin DynaDrive offers infinite storage, ultimate portability,
convenient data exchange, unparalleled reliability and ease of use.

486SLC Processor

The high performance 486SLC, 25 MHz notebook combines the power of 486
computing with the cost effectiveness of 386-based chips. In addition,
while having the power of the 486 generation chips, the 486SLC doesn't
have the high power consumption and heat generation of traditional
486-based units. "This means users don't have to worry about short battery
life or heat related problems as a trade off for improved performance and
reliability," states Mr. Yong.

Internal Ethernet

Today's computer users need to have access to networks, in order to tap
into powerful databases, communicate quickly with colleagues, and retrieve
and/or send vital information.

The Dauphin 550's built-in Ethernet card gives the unit "plug and play"
network capabilities.

It also offers a true portable solution for companies concerned with
allocation of office work space and additional desktop space.

Two Hard Drives Better Than One

The Dauphin 550, features a built-in 60 MB hard disk drive and an internal
85 MB DynaDrive with removable diskette. "For starters, this totals 145
MB's of on-line storage," asserts Mr. Yong. "Infinite storage can be
achieved by creating a library of diskettes, 12 alone make up a
gigabyte."

Executives can store their operating system and applications on the fixed
drive and confidential files and high-level documents on their removable
DynaDrive diskettes. At a time when computer theft or loss has become a
major concern for mobile professionals, the removable diskettes offer
maximum security.

Pricing and Availability

The Dauphin 550, slated for First Quarter 1993 production, will range in
price from $2500 to $3500, depending on configurations and options.
Dauphin also plans to introduce its 550 to interested computer companies
for private labeling arrangements. With its primary focus in R&D, Dauphin
has been highly successful in bringing new products to the industry.
"Dauphin is willing to share their technologically advanced products with
other computer companies," according to Mr. Yong.
