Apple Computer Announces New Program for Multimedia Developers at the '92
Macromedia Conference

SAN FRANCISCO, California--October 30, 1992--Apple Computer, Inc. today
introduced a new assistance program designed to spur the development of
multimedia products such as interactive books, music and animated content.
This new program, called the Apple Multimedia Program, will strengthen
Apple's partners' abilities to prosper in the growing areas of multimedia
creation and playback, and provide Macintosh computer users with a broader
and richer range of computer-based information.

Today, a growing number of multimedia developers, publishers, and producers
are taking advantage of multimedia technologies that are built into all
Macintosh personal computers. Technologies such as QuickTime (Apple's
architecture to handle dynamic data types such as sound, video, and
animation), newly enhanced CD-ROM software and CD-ROM-equipped Macintosh
computers have enabled developers to create new and different multimedia
products.

The newly created multimedia program will provide multimedia developers
with supportive tools and information to enable them to increase their
production of multimedia titles and products on Apple platforms.

"We expect multimedia tools developers, titles publishers, as well as,
custom developers to respond positively to this new program," said Steve
Franzese, manager, Worldwide Multimedia Marketing Group. "The new Apple
Multimedia Program will help create a specialized program which invests in
our partners and reaffirms Apple as a leader in multimedia."

"The Apple Multimedia Program represents an expansion of Apple's overall
commitment to its developers. The new program complements our existing
support offerings " said Kirk Loevner, vice president, Apple Developer
Group.

"Apple's new Multimedia Program will provide developers and publishers some
of the critical resources for building profitable new media businesses,"
said John C. (Bud) Colligan, President & COO, Macromedia. "We are pleased
Apple has chosen the Macromedia Users Conference to reach this important
group."
