Apple USA Rolls Out 'The Easy Way' Promotion

CAMPBELL, California--October 15, 1992--The Apple USA division of Apple
Computer, Inc. today announced "The Easy Way" promotion designed to
provide greater value to Apple Macintosh computer business customers
during the peak buying season of the year. The program, administered
through participating Apple authorized resellers, offers special
incentives on software solutions purchased in conjunction with select
Macintosh computers in the United States.

The Easy Way promotion, which runs through Jan. 3, 1993, is geared to the
needs of business customers who are Macintosh and MS-DOS users, and first
time computer buyers.

The promotion includes The Easy Way software bundle of Lotus 1-2-3 for
Macintosh, WordPerfect for Macintosh, Universal SoftPC and AccessPC for up
to $1,000 off their combined suggested retail prices when purchased in
conjunction with any Macintosh computer, except the Macintosh Performa
line. The bundle is designed for users looking for the ability to share
files and data between Macintosh and MS-DOS computers, as well as run
MS-DOS programs on the Macintosh.

"Apple understands the need of compatibility among our business customers.
This software bundle will allow customers to exchange information
effortlessly between their Macintosh and most MS-DOS computers," said
Bruce Mowery, director, Business Markets Division, Apple USA.

In addition to The Easy Way bundle, customers may choose between two
finance programs and a trade-in option also available through
participating Apple authorized resellers:

--Apple Credit Card: Qualified customers may receive the Apple Credit Card,
which allows them to purchase a qualifying Macintosh computer under
Apple's 90 Day Same as Cash offer.

--Apple Business Lease: Customers may qualify for a lease during the
promotional period that requires no money down, no security deposit and no
payments for 30 days.

--Apple Exchange Program: Customers may exchange their used Macintosh, IBM
or Compaq computers that have a cumulative trade-in value of at least
$1,000 toward the purchase of new Macintosh technology.

The Apple Credit Card and the Apple Business Lease also apply to Macintosh
compatible software, Apple peripherals, training and AppleCare purchased
on the same invoice as the Macintosh computer.

The Easy Way promotion will be nationally supported through an advertising
campaign: "Choose The Easy Way. Choose Apple." Media will consist of
print, radio and direct mail.
