FIRST DISK EXPANSION SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR MACINTOSH

San Diego, Calif. -- November 3, 1992 -- Golden Triangle announced
shipment of TimesTwo (patent pending), the first driver-level disk
expansion product for Macintosh. With a simple one-time installation,
TimesTwo transparently doubles the capacity of any SCSI disk without
reformatting, leaving users' data unchanged.

TimesTwo moves a quantum leap beyond products like AutoDoubler and More
Disk Space which increase disk storage by compressing individual files,
resulting in numerous compatibility problems and the need for constant
upgrades. TimesTwo actually makes a user's disk bigger, transforming a
40MB disk into an 80MB, for example. All file sizes and creator types
are actual and file recovery programs such as Symantec's The Norton
Utilities and Central Point's MacTools can diagnose and fix disk
problems.

TimesTwo works by compressing disk blocks at the driver level, reducing
the amount of space needed to store them, and increasing the true size of
the disk. The Macintosh Finder actually sees a 40MB hard disk as an
80MB. This means users can store and retrieve more data on disk without
compressing and decompressing files.

Upgrading a disk with TimesTwo is as easy as clicking the mouse a few
times to install the TimesTwo driver on the user's disk. Afterwards,
TimesTwo is completely invisible, giving the user a disk of twice its
original capacity. There is no Control Panel, System Extension or other
System Software installed on the disk. Users can go back to work
immediately, without a further thought about TimesTwo.

TimesTwo is especially attractive in an era when budgets and resources are
tight. System administrators love TimesTwo because of its simple
installation and its complete transparency to the user. To
administrators, adding another hard disk represents not only a
significant cost, but the added difficulty of proper configuration and
the security risk posed by external disks.

TimesTwo is perfect for PowerBooks because users can double their disk
capacity without replacing the internal disk or adding a cumbersome
external disk. TimesTwo is also ideal for removable disks such as
Bernoulli and SyQuest cartridges because the media can be moved to
another Macintosh without the need for TimesTwo on the receiving machine.
For example, an 88MB TimesTwo SyQuest cartridge that has been
transformed into a 176MB disk can be sent to a service bureau, because
the TimesTwo software is already installed on disk.

TimesTwo works on the Macintosh Plus and above, requires a minimum of 2
megabytes of RAM and requires System 6.0.4 or above. TimesTwo will list
at $149.
