Version 3 of PC-Kwik Power Pak for DOS Ships with Faster Disk Cache, Disk
Defragmenter, and Multiple Boot Utility

Beaverton, Oregon - PC-Kwik Corporation has announced a major new release
of their DOS speed-up product, PC-Kwik Power Pak version 3.0. The new
version includes major enhancements to its leading disk cache, Super
PC-Kwik, which increase its speed and ease-of-use. The new version also
includes Power Disk , their top-rated disk reorganizer, which was
previously available as a separate product. A completely new module
called KwikBoot provides multiple DOS boot configurations. All Power Pak
modules now have English-language parameters similar to those used by
Windows .INI files which make them much easier to use.

The new Super PC-Kwik version 5 includes a number of speed enhancements as
well as an option to select delayed writes, a method of caching data being
written to a disk drive which can have dramatic improvements in disk
performance. Super PC-Kwik also automatically detects applications using
VCPI and DPMI memory and can lend memory to the applications as needed.

Power Disk has been completely integrated into Power Pak and now has a new
graphical interface which uses Windows-like screens. The interface makes
it easy to schedule safe and regular disk defragmenting, file sorting, and
disk testing at boot time.

Daily scheduling of defragmenting is the best way to keep a hard disk fast
and efficient. Power Disk is the industry's fastest defragmenter and is
capable of reorganizing disks with partitions of over 1 gigabyte in size.

KwikBoot is a new addition to Power Pak which allows a computer to be
booted in up to 26 different configurations. Users who switch between DOS
and Windows, or use applications that require different configurations,
will appreciate the ease in which they can select different CONFIG and
AUTOEXEC settings.

Other new features include the addition of keyboard aliases, an enhanced
type-ahead buffer, and the ability to save the ReViewTM screen buffer to a
disk file. Keyboard aliases allow a DOS user to create short commands to
replace long, complicated or multiple DOS commands. The expanded keyboard
buffer allows the DOS user to type ahead instead of waiting for the DOS
prompt to return from a previous function, and allows expansion up to 1024
characters. The ReView feature creates a large screen buffer which can
now be saved to a disk file for editing or printing.

Version 5 of Super PC-Kwik and version 3 of Power Pak are scheduled to ship
on November 2, 1992. Suggested retail prices are $79.95 for Super PC-Kwik
and $129.95 for Power Pak. Updates for current users are avialable
directly from PC-Kwik at $19.95 for Super PC-Kwik and $39.95 for Power
Pak.
