Study Electrochemical Behavior of Chemical Systems with the DLK 100 PC
Voltammetric Analyzer and LabVIEW for Windows

November 20, 1992 - Austin, TX - Analytical Instrument Systems (AIS), Inc.
(Flemington, NJ) and National Instruments (Austin, TX) announced today the
DLK 100 PC Voltammetric Analyzer. The DLK 100 is a new LabVIEW for
Windows-based system that scientists can use to analyze basic
electrochemical behavior of a chemical system-without having to write any
programs. AIS, a member of the National Instruments Alliance Program,
first introduced the DLK 100 Voltammetric Analyzer for LabVIEW for
Macintosh in March 1992.

The DLK 100 PC Voltammetric Analyzer performs all the basic electrochemical
techniques including linear sweep, cyclic voltammetry, normal pulse,
differential pulse, and square wave techniques as well as all the
associated stripping techniques. The DLK 100 system also features a
draw-your-own-waveform technique. The DLK 100 PC Voltammetric Analyzer can
be used in a variety of applications, including

- Heavy metal analysis of drinking water, waste water,
  and sea water.
- Determination of correct operation parameters for
  electrochemical detectors used in HPLC
- Speciation of chemical systems
- Trace analysis of contamination in pharmaceuticals and food
- Analysis of neuro peptides and catecholamines
- Kinetic analysis of various chemical systems

The system includes all the hardware and software necessary to get the
scientist set up quickly and running experiments--electrochemical software
(an operate-only LabVIEW program) and the LabVIEW for Windows run-time
system, a National Instruments AT-MIO-16X multifunction data acquisition
board, potentiostat, electrode stand (including electrodes), cables, and
documentation.

About LabVIEW

LabVIEW is a general-purpose programming tool with extensive libraries for
data acquisition, instrument control, data analysis, and data
presentation. LabVIEW is available for Windows-based PCs, Sun
SPARCstations, and Macintosh computers. With LabVIEW, engineers and
scientists build software modules called virtual instruments (VIs) instead
of writing cryptic text-based programs. LabVIEW features a library of
ready-to-use controls, graphs, and strip charts for quickly and easily
building custom user interfaces and control panels. With LabVIEW, users
build block diagrams as the executable programs.

System Requirements

The minimum configuration for the DLK 100 PC Voltametric Analyzer is a 486
PC with 8 megabytes RAM and 10 megabytes hard disk space.

Price and Availability

The DLK 100 PC Voltammetric Analyzer system will be available from AIS in
April 1993 for $6,995. The complete turnkey system with PC included is
$9,995. For more information, please contact AIS at P.O. Box 458,
Flemington, NJ 08822-0458, (908) 788-7022, fax (908) 788-5617.

The LabVIEW for Windows full development and base packages are available
now from National Instruments. The LabVIEW packages are priced at $995 to
$1,995 respectively. The LabVIEW for Windows Run-Time System will be
available in December. Please contact National Instruments at 6504 Bridge
Point Parkway, Austin, TX 78730-5039, (512) 794-0100, fax (512) 794-8411.
