DPT Expands Tape Backup Options

DPT SCSI Supported by New Release of Cheyenne's ARCserve/Solo

October 13, 1992 -- Maitland, Florida - Distributed Processing Technology
(DPT), announces that the new release of Cheyenne Software's ARCserve/Solo
network tape backup and restore software supports its SmartCache Plus SCSI
adapters. SmartCache Plus ISA and EISA SCSI host adapters are currently on
the market and ARCserve/Solo version 2.11 began shipping today.

By combining the DPT and Cheyenne products, users can now effectively
backup as much as 35 gigabytes of data by attaching up to seven identical
tape drives to a single DPT SCSI adapter. ARCserve/Solo 2.11, a DOS-based
backup and restore solution, supports DOS and NetWare as well as
peer-to-peer operating systems like NetWare Lite and LANtastic.

"Our decision to develop a relationship with Cheyenne is based on feedback
from users and resellers alike. It indicates our commitment to providing
our customers with a complete SCSI solution -- that means providing them
with connectivity to the widest possible range of operating systems,
applications and SCSI mass storage devices such as disk, tape and CD-ROM
drives," says David Race, DPT's vice president of marketing.

SmartCache Plus is DPT's award-winning SCSI host adapter. Its proven
price/performance superiority combined with a scalable architecture
(hardware caching and disk mirroring can be added to base controller via
optional plug-on modules) has made SmartCache Plus the SCSI market leader.
SmartCache Plus is the SCSI adapter of choice for manufacturers such as
AST, NEC, NCR, Dell, Intel, Wyse, Wang, and Siemens.
