Victor, NY. Have you ever tried to interconnect two incompatible pieces of
computer equipment and wished that you had a "box" which would make them
communicate? Have you ever come across an expensive device which outputs
data in a format which is almost but not quite what you need, but the
manufacturer is inaccessible, reluctant to modify it, or has gone bust?
Have you ever been asked to produce a custom protocol converter, only to
find that the quantity involved is too small to make it profitable? If you
answered yes to any of these questions then the PPC Programmable Protocol
Converter from The Saelig Company of Victor, NY (716-425-3753; fax
716-425-3835) is for you! It can solve all of the above problems - and
many more. You simply connect a PC or a dumb terminal and type-in a Pascal
or Basic program. If you are familiar with elementary software concepts,
the learning curve is almost nil. For the most common PPC applications,
the program is surprisingly small.

The PPC Programmable Protocol Convertor is a unique device that supports
the rapid construction of customized protocol convertors and other
datacomms devices. Using easy-to-use Basic or full-featured Pascal,
home-grown applications such as custom file converters, device emulators,
and evne CNC language modification are rapidly achieved.

A number of ready-made routines are supplied, including drivers for CAD/CAM
devices and a sophisticated 50-user 3-modem dail-back program too.
Programming from an ordinary PC, up to 20 programs can be downloaded and
stored in EEPROM at once on the PPC. The basic device comes with two RS232
ports (four optional). Other options include real-time clock, 16-bit
analog I/O, and memomry cards.

The PPC is not only a great learning tool for general datacomms problem
solving, it is also an excellent vehicle for value-added OEM resellers to
profitably produce professional-looking customized devices even in low
volumes.

The PPC is available from stock at $699.00 each.
