NETWORLD DALLAS SETS EXHIBITOR AND ATTENDANCE RECORDS

Scores of Major Announcements Affirm Show as Premier Event for Computer
Networking and Interoperability

(Dallas, TX, Oct. 19) -- NetWorld 92 Dallas set records as the computer
industry's main event for computer networking and interoperability, Oct.
13-15, at the Dallas Convention Center. This year's NetWorld show had
39,396 attendees and featured 495 exhibitors covering an exhibit floor of
more than 200,000 net sq. ft.

Scores of exhibitors at NetWorld announced new products and alliances
during the three-day run of the show. Major announcements of computer
networking products, services and programs were made by Compaq, Dell, IBM,
Intel, Microsoft, Novell and WordPerfect.

Scores of other exhibitors also made announcements including: Artisoft, AST
Research, Banyan Systems, Emerald Systems, Frye Utilities, Gigatrend,
Hayes, Lotus, Memorex Telex, Microtest, National Semiconductor, NetFrame,
SynOptics, Texas Instruments, Univel, and Zenith .

NetWorld and Lante Corporation co-sponsored the show's network, ShowNet,
which offered attendees a comprehensive array of show and conference
information and an electronic communication forum.

ShowNet featured the first NetWorld Presidential Poll recording NetWorld
attendees' Presidential picks. More than 1,100 U.S. attendees responded to
the poll, and Democratic candidate Bill Clinton was the winner with 32
percent. President George Bush, the Republican candidate, garnered 29
percent of the vote, while 27 percent picked Ross Perot, the Independent
from Texas, and 10 percent chose "Other."

Mr. John W. White, president of the Information Technology Group at Texas
Instruments, delivered the keynote address on October 13. Mr. White
explored "Networking Excellence in Supporting the Global Enterprise," in
his speech.

NetWorld's comprehensive and intensive Seminar Series, featured eight
conference tracks, including a new Reseller Track on October 12. Eleven
NetWorld Tutorials, also held on October 12, recorded strong attendance .

The Eighth Annual NetWorld Dallas show and conference will return to the
Dallas Convention Center, October 5-7, 1993. NetWorld 93 Boston will take
place January 12-14, 1993, at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in
Boston, MA.
