LIND ELECTRONIC DESIGN INTRODUCES NEW POWER ACCESSORIES FOR THE MACINTOSH
POWERBOOK DUO COMPUTERS

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (October 19, 1992) -- Lind Electronic Design is pleased to
announce three new power products for the Macintosh PowerBook Duo line of
portable computers - expanding its line of accessory products designed to
make your portable more portable. These new products include: Auxiliary
Power Pack, Automotive Power Adapter, Auxiliary "D" Cell Power Pack.

AUXILIARY POWER PACK - (Model APP-4)

The APP-4 is designed to extend portable operation of the Macintosh
PowerBook Duo by approximately 400%. This eliminates the inconvenience of
carrying and swapping multiple batteries during prolonged use of your
PowerBook Duo. The unit is globally designed to accept three sources of
recharging power; 115 VAC transformer, 12 VDC from your automobile, and
the Apple Universal AC adapter supplied with your PowerBook Duo.

LeRoy Lind, founder and President of Lind Electronics, attributes the
success of their products to the advice Apple provides its third party
partners in selecting accessories which will support and enhance its
product line and LED's ability to react quickly in developing reliable,
functional products.

This newly designed unit has an extruded aluminum housing to minimize size
& weight, replacing the current APP-1 with a lighter, more compact unit.
The APP-4 has status indicators, and built-in charge and regulator
circuitry. The system includes the AC adapter, DC Lighter socket cord, and
the power pack-to-computer cable. The APP-4 has a suggested retail price
of $189.95.

AUXILIARY "D" CELL POWER PACK - (Model APP-5)

This Power Pack can be used to provide emergency power for your PowerBook
Duo when the normal rechargable batteries are expended or in applications
where power for recharging batteries is not available. By utilizing
Alkaline "D" Cells, power is readily available for that long flight home
or at a time when you cannot "plug-in" your power source.

Said Lind Electronic Design, "We saw a need for a standby type of power
source in a slimline case without excessive weight. If readily available
Alkaline cells could be used as a backup, power would be as close as the
airport gift shop, variety store, convenience store, etc."

The special molded housing contains the regulator which supplies a 1 0-watt
output to operate the PowerBook Duo four to five times longer than the
internal battery. The unit measures 11.4 X 2.75 X 1.5 inches and weighs
only 8 ounces without the D Cells. The APP-5 has a suggested retail price
of $99.95.

AUTOMOBILE POWER ADAPTER - (MODEL APA-3)

The Automobile Power Adapter is a 12 VDC auto lighter adapter for the
Macintosh PowerBook Duo computers. Engineered as a regulated voltage and
current supply, the Automobile Power Adapter recognizes the stringent
power requirements of the computer and emulates the output voltage of the
PowerBook Duo's AC power adapter.

Lind's many years of designing and manufacturing Automobile Power Adapters
has enabled them to produce a smaller, lighter unit for the PowerBook Duo
to fit the scheme of reduced volume while providing the same reliable
performance found in their current models.

The APA-3 measures approximately 1 X 3 X 1.7 inches and weighs 6 ounces.
The input cord has a fused plug which fits a cigar lighter socket and the
out put cord has the appropriate plug to mate with the PowerBook Duo power
input socket. The APA-3 has a suggested retail price of $99.95.

All Product will be available through dealers or by ordering direct from
Lind Electronic Design via their toll free number, (800) 659-5956.
