AIR ANNOUNCES FULLY-INTEGRATED WIDE AREA WIRELESS PERIPHERAL FOR APPLE'S
NEW POWERBOOK DUO NOTEBOOKS.

SUNNYVALE, CA - October 19, 1992 - Air Communications today announced the
first fully-integrated wide area wireless product for Apple Computer,
Inc.'s new Macintosh Powerbook Duo notebook computers. The product, dubbed
"The AirDock, connects to PowerBook Duo notebooks using a proprietary
docking design engineered by Apple. When the AirDock is attached, it
physically becomes part of the computer, allowing the user to carry the
notebook and AirDock as one unit. The AirDock brings the concept of the
virtual office closer to reality by allowing the mobile computer user to
communicate with virtually any other computer at any time, regardless of
the user's location or proximity to telephone connections.

The AirDock allows a PowerBook Duo to become a wireless data terminal
usable in North America, allowing notebook users, for the first time to
log into their desktop computers and LAN systems at the office at any time
they are travelling.

The AirDock can send and receive data files at up to 20,000 bits per
second, providing the user with low cost, reliable, high speed transfer of
information. Wireless facsimile capability is included as well, so users
may fax documents back to the office or to customers using the AirDock
system. In addition, the AirDock is capable of terminal emulation and
two-way voice communications using wireless technology. The fully
integrated unit can be operated transparently from most applications from
within the Macintosh environment. A full featured toolbox is included and
provides a seamless interface between applications and the AirDock system,
as well as custom control features specific to wireless communications.
